  1. Pushased my Journey late November 2009, 2010 R/T and just hitting 5,000 miles and not 1 problem. I am very impressed with the handling even in the snow here in Michigan. I would recomend this car to anyone. I hope most of the early problems have been corrected.
  2. Happy to here your trip went well and the Journey perfomed to expectations. I have only seen Georgian Bay from the water on a boat trip a few years ago but it was really beautiful and definitely Gods Country. I look forward to taking a motor trip around the Great Lakes in the near future. I now have 1400 miles on my Journey and it has performed flawlessly. I had to drive my Durango today because I think it is getting zealous and may start acting up on me for punishment for driving the Journey too much. I look forward to all posters and especially with the 2010 model year to see if most of the problems have been worked out and what new probems they may have encountered with the 2010. I hope to learn more about my Journey as I have decided I will take it down to my home in Gatlinburg Tn for a little Holiday vacation over Christmas.Again I look forward to your posts and others with their Journey's. So far you are doing a good job keeping the cold and snow north this year, last year was Hell.
  3. Welcome to the forum. I am also a new member with a 2010 R/T AWD only inferno red. I wish you well with your new purchase and a safe journey to Georgian Bay with your new Journey. I have noticed that there are many posters from Canada on this forum who contribute regularly. A very great neighbor and friend as long as you keep your cold and snow north. Have a safe,Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and I look forward to reading your post's in the future of your journies with your new Journey.
  4. I purchased my new 2010 Journey RT/AWD, November 25/09. I was not in need of a new vehicle at the time however after receiving a call from a friend who owns two Chrysler and one GM dealership trying to increase much needed sales by calling friends and long time customers informed me he could offer amazing deals on vehicles that he had in his inventory. He also knew I had 150,000 (trouble free) miles on my 2006 Durango and I was waiting for the new 2012 Durango's to be introduced as my next personal vehicle purchase. Not needing any trucks for the business (we have 3 sitting unused because of the economy) I decided to look for a back-up for my current Durango should it not last until the new Durango's are introduced if ever. I first looked at the Tahoe's he had in stock and I really liked them but I quickly ruled them out as the $48,000 price was way more than I wanted to pay. The Acadia was the next vehicle I looked at while not as nice as the Tahoe it was more than acceptable but fully equipped was still $40,000 even with discounts. Realizing I was quickly losing interest and not really needing a new vehicle at the time he suggested we drive over to his Chrysler dealership about 12 miles away. The first vehicle we looked at was a 2010 RT/AWD Inferno Red, fully equipped. This vehicle's list price was $34,700. His sale price was 30,500 OTD with 48 month 0% interest with no trade,in my opinion a fair price from a dealer desperate to move inventory. The real test would be the test drive to see if I could adapt to a smaller crossover. Needless to say I picked up that Journey that night knowing I still had the Durango and my company leased Buick for transportation should I not be happy with the new Journey. Yesterday I turned 1,000 miles on the Journey and I couldn't be happier. I have not experienced any of problems that many have expressed here on this forum. The Journey handles very well in dry,wet and snow conditions. The ride is very good and quiet and comfortable and the car responds well with smooth shifting and I am getting 19 mpg combined city and highway driving and I expect that to improve as the engine breaks in with more miles. I now find myself making excuses to drive the Journey instead of the others because I have found it to be such a pleasure to drive. I also know that 1,000 miles is not enough miles to make a qualified review for any vehicle but I have been very impressed with the Journey at this early stage. It seems Chrysler has solved many of the problems from the earlier model years and are getting closer to the Journey being what it was intended to be and with the changes planned for the 2011 model year the Journey may become a word class crossover if they don't run out of taxpayer money first. I enjoy reading this forum however I wish more people with 2010 Journeys would express their experiences to see if the problems have been resolved and share both good and bad experiences, Happy Motoring and more importantly have a safe and Merry Christmas
  5. I had my first opprotunity to drive in the snow last night. 3" of hard packed blowing snow with a hard packed icy base. The Journey really surprised me with its handling. I was planning on driving my 4 wheel drive Durango in snowy weather this winter but wanted to take the Journey out to see how it would do in the snow. The Journey was great and handled as good or better than the 4WD Durango which I feel handles very well in snow. I now have no fear of getting caught in the snow with the AWD Journey and will probably not invest in snow tires this year and only use the Durango in deep heavy snowfalls. The journey AWD is a great handling car and has made me a believer in AWD.
  6. I just purchased my Dodge Journey RT,AWD with 19"Kuhmo tires 2 weeks ago and would like to hear from others who have gone through a winter with snow and ice and would comment how the car handled in these conditions. Although I have a Durango with 4 wheel drive I plan to drive this winter it is inevitable I will get caught in the snow at some point this winter with the Journey. From looking at the tire pattern they don't seem to be too much of a all weather tire but I do like the way the Journey handles on dry and wet pavement. Are snow tires a must for good handling in snow and ice or can I get by with the AWD and OEM tires?
  7. I just wanted to say hello. I decided to buy a new crossover and the Journey was very appealing. I wasn't sure after reading many reviews and seeing all the problems with the new model introduction that I had read on this forum and other reviews. I hope the 2010 moldels have these problems resolved. So far so good. I picked my Journey up 11/25/09 and with 300 miles no problems and I am very pleased. I have purchased many new vehiciles in my 60 year life and none so far has made me any happier. I will keep my 2007 Durango in my garage for bad snow days here in MI and use the Journey for good weather every day driving. I am thinking about adopting a 14 or 15 year old "geek" to help me with the Media Center and all the electronics that this vehicile is equipped with. I think in todays new world everyone should have at least 1 "geek" in the family and I now think "geeks" are cool. I just wanted to say thank you to all the people who have contributed to this forum. It has been very helpful and I will continue to read it for all the good information and ideas. I think I will go back out to the garage now and try to learn how to use the Media Center.
