Journey_SeXT, our snow was so light here you could broom it away, as his mother did with the walkway. I brushed my car off, did a circular drive, county sidewalk, all in the time he took to snow blow a small driveway. I also went around the corner and cleaned part of an elderly couples driveway. They have a steep drive and I hate seeing him out there cleaning, but he loves doing it, I leave just enough closer to the door so he can say he did something. Scared the couple too. They're use to seeing a silver truck parked out front, they were ready to call the police. I think she's 89 and he should be 91 this year, I love the older people, so much knowledge to share if you're willing to listen.

On my SE it's steel and plastic hubs. I started to look at other SEs still out there and I'm noticing the base price on a 2015 is 200 more on some than others? 25,395 and 25,595, online stickers are all over the map..oh well, all is good. On the list of exterior features I have the 17-inch x 6.5-inch Steel Wheels, on the list of optional equipment I have 17-inch x 6.5-inch Aluminum Wheels. the optional equipment past the 28F, Premium group, down to Uconnect with voice lists; Leather shift, auto dim rear view w microphone, leather wrapped steering wheel, then 17" aluminum wheels? But it lists steel wheels under Exterior Features? how did I get so lucky? Never mind, it's on the print from the window sticker, not the actual window sticker that I just went out to get from the car,,,, I'm still happy

Well, we're under a triple threat, we have cold, snow, and a full moon! You know you're in the height of laziness when you drag a snow blower out for an inch and a half to 2 inches of snow, know wonder the boy weighs 400+ lbs. smdh The only thing I truly hated about winter was snappy clothes. Unless you were willing to spray all the clothes with static guard they always either stuck together or stuck to you once you put them on. No amount of fabric softener or dryer sheets stopped it. Then I learned about tinfoil dryer balls and now I have nothing to complain about, instructions on the net Back to watching the cardinals enjoy a block of suet.

So what's the difference and which is better between "steel wheels" and "aluminum wheels?"

@jkeaton, no I didn't pay 30K, the MSRP for just over 30K. sheeesh, I didn't pay but 25K out the door on my Envoy stickered at 37,777. The only reason I settled on an SE was I needed a car, my Envoy needed more repairs then it was going to be worth (breaks, cluster panel motor, rear door roof window motor (lucky for the opera window between seat and back of truck worked), windshield washer reservoir, and something clunked in the front end just a couple of miles from the dealer). Everything beyond an SE came with stuff I didn't want or need. 6 cyl, AWD, and storage, all I would have wanted other than that is sunroof, and maybe leather, nothing else, don't even need the Uconnect. I won't put wheels on any car that I can't park outside of a garage, I currently don't have a garage. A few years ago, pouring down rain, my neighbor across the street had a brand new Escalade, not fully loaded, but over loaded. 4am, my other neighbor next to me knocks on her door and says he drove by seen her tires, drove by again, they weren't there. Months later she shows me the pictures of her truck on blocks. I ask her where did the blocks come from. She said she didn't know, I then got to tell her those were the blocks that the he stole from me while I was having a circular drive put in. They busted her sunroof, got the wheel lock, stole all her DVD equipment, messed the entire vehicle up. Less than 6 months later he brings home 4 more tires on rims, puts them behind his shed, that faces my property, they're still there. pfftt anytime he says anything to me, I tell him "shut up, you're just a renter." Don't like him, needs to leave me alone. The Big Boys Toys has a DJ on facebook, looks to be an SE, on 22" tires and rims, that's not happening here.

The way you guys go nuts over cars and wheels, is the way I go nuts over swimming pools and crystal clear blue water, nothing like the Caribbean!

More of my independence gone I'll have to call roadside assistance and beg the guy to go get a battery and lift the car to change the battery, because I have no where to plug it in at night.

Well, it should be a law, if the vehicle is stickered over 30K you can't use plastic hubs I'm not upset, just didn't think they used plastic like that on cars anymore, kudos to Dodge making them so real, fooled the hell out of me! And I can think of at least 3 scenarios that I would have been more shocked in learning, one would have been watching my hubs melt as I sprayed them with wheel and tire cleaner.

In my neighborhood, they only touched the corvette and the fully loaded Lincoln, 200 doesn't buy these4 boys the next trip to the next corner, my wheels on the Envoy were much better and I don't think anyone looked twice. lol oh well, again shame on me, I only test drove beyond really looking at every other DJ.

papa, I had to retire early and love it, that's why I asked. I do a lot of volunteer work, mostly with the animal shelter. Guardian ad litem is another thing I like volunteering for, court cases where you represent the children, it's more taxing than just walking dogs, but rewarding. I just wondered why you felt that way about retirement, I was brought to retirement kicking and screaming, now I like it, I like it too much. I figure once I move it'll be even better. I'll be standing on the beach teaching children how to swim out of a riptide. life is good!

Well, he wasn't my mechanic, but what he was saying about buying a new 2015 over a sitting 2013 made sense. As far as financing, I didn't need it other than to boost my credit score. I'll be moving, I won't need to finance the house, but there's other things I'm looking into financing. I just know next time I'm not dealing with dealerships that don't put the true price on the internet. If I have to start with a low price and start adding rebates that I don't qualify for back on the price of the vehicle, well then there's no deal.

A local mechanic said better to pass on the 2013 that has 4 miles on it since it sat threw the polar vortex without anyone starting or driving it. I know I lost my windshield reservoir on the Envoy during that chill. So did some other lady I spoke to that has a Dodge, she said Dodge paid to fix hers under warranty.

Who knew that they even put plastic hubcaps on cars anymore, shame on me for not noticing. I noticed a black mark, it's magic marker on my wheels, so I just was making sure that's it wasn't a scratch, and the look on my face must have been priceless when I learned those are plastic hubcaps like Zayres (for those that remember) use to sell for 19.99 on special. I guess I never noticed other than the more expensive wheels, mine are a flat color silver just like my Envoy, so I thought no more about it. In fact the dealership has a car exactly like mine, the difference in price was wheel locks. Really? They lock those plastic covers on?

I wasn't sure if the battery was in the same place as the 2015s, the salesman of the 2013 I was looking at said they were under the seat. ahh what did he know? Glad it didn't explode!! BTW, I only felt violated by the cops and the insurance company. The police were sure I had my brand new truck stolen since the guy was in my house and took my keys, and then they didn't write it up as a breaking and entering, they wrote it up as a stolen car. Then the insurance company couldn't get it together to fix it, nor fix it right, I was out over 2 months waiting for repairs, and took it to 3 different places to get it right, it was never right. Ohhh, and the guy that sat on my truck for a month and did nothing, kept saying he was waiting on one more part, he quit, then my insurance company hired him. OnStar is useless, as long as he pulled the wires or unhooked the battery they couldn't trace him. But at one point they told me the police had him cornered, then said they shouldn't have told me that; "call back every hour if you'd like though!" ahh then my 220lb mastiff that was happy to see him as long as she got treats! I hope you get it back with no problems, a lot of boxes to put it back together...

My 2004 Envoy XUV was stolen after the break in of my home early 2005, the truck didn't even have 5000 miles on it. The guy went around too garages in 2 days stealing everything my truck could carry, don't know why he finally decided to ditch it and completely tear it apart. My insurance company decided they would try and fix it, which they in turn regretted. Loss of resale; I got the story of "you don't know what your loss will be down the road if any." I do know the longer the vehicle shows up in repairs the worse it looks when you run the vin later on. Some insurance companies just throw in a small additional amount to keep everyone quiet. I've since changed insurance companies, I pay a little more, but I don't get the run around as I did with my other one. Journeyman, where she hit, is that where the battery is? Or is it in another location?

Horror stories; that's the nature of the beast. Normally for every 20 complaints you'll get one person saying all happy things. That's the way it is even in retail I'm not sure how the guys deal with issues, as all cars have them, it's not the issue per say, it's how they deal with it. Do they ignore it? Fix it? Respond at all? So far the last car I really considered, they're ignoring people with transmission troubles, and I mean a lot of vehicles. With Dodge I had seen where issues aren't being ignored, anything from simple navigation concerns to bigger issues. So with me, service, responsiveness trumps anything that may happen with the vehicle. BTW, did you get the tow package? If you did, and you're going to park on the street like that, get a tow ball and keep people off your back bumper. I know I know, I have a bit of a mean streak too....

WOW Journeyman, sooo sorry to see all the damage, makes me want to stay home more than I do. I'm glad everyone is OK though. We can always find you a new DJ, still seeing plenty of copper out this way on the lots, the more I still look, the more I find.

Welcome AR7, beautiful truck. I got a 2015 DJ SE on 12/21, paid less than the base of the car, don't drive enough to warrant all the bells and whistles. When it comes to price, there's a lot of variables in prices and DJs, is it a AWD or FWD? AWD is going to up the price by about 2K. Is your navigation a 5 year already turned on, or do you have to pay to turn it on? I looked into a Crossroad and was ready to camp out for a price of 25K, it was fully loaded, well every thing except for AWD, that was the deal breaker. It had leather stitched seats, moon roof, 5 year Nav, parking with assist, it even had WiFi connect, and other extras. And as far as out the door, depends on whether the tags were transferred, was there a trade-in, state tax amount, and yes the extended warranty, I didn't bite on it, I don't have all the extras to worry about breaking that I can't fix out of pocket. So in the end you got a beautiful truck, wouldn't worry about comparing to others, just beam with pride, otherwise you'll go insane. First thing on the list should be window deflectors. If you open your widows in the rain you'll get water on the window electronics, they'll burn out faster that way. Again, welcome, and Happy New Year!

I looked at Garmins at Target today, any of the sizes will do. Lifetime updates, I'll spring for Phantom Alert, and maybe get the beanbag accessory? I don't use a phone enough to warrant a fancy phone. If you call and I miss you, because I'm not glued to the phone, I may call back in 3 days. My brother offered me an iPhone years ago, even was going to put me on his plan. nahhh I'm too old for someone to be paying my way, let alone who knows when I'd be without service. My car salesman said he pays $300 a month, he's got his mom on his plan, and not sure if he said anyone else, my head couldn't stop spinning, that's INSANE! I actually have 2 cheap phones, one number has no voice mail, the other one does, made it easy when car shopping, dealers got the non-voice mail one, and I still don't spend $300 a year on 2 cheapies.

LOL bramfrank, You've given me too much credit. I don't own a fancy phone, never will. The only thing I would use it for would be to scan my lottery tickets for winners. In fact I may be the only person peeved that had to pay for a Uconnect in my DJ that won't be used. But, looking on the website, not all Gamins come with lifetime maps and traffic updates?

Thank you, I'm going to try and place something on the dash to see how much of my view will be obstructed. Other than that, lifetime updates is a feature I'll go with, along with the Phantom alert. Phantom alert tells you all the speed cameras, red light cameras, almost works like a radar detector. I guess I'll look to see what Best Buy is offering, other than that, I'll take a referb from the online outlet.

Never had a Garmin. I know I need one. When I did a mapquest to get to the dealership, it showed I had 28 more exits to go, when in fact I didn't. So any special features? Size; 5", 6", 7"? Traffic updates? Phantom alert? Dash mount? All I know is I want lifetime maps, and since others have had good luck with the outlet, I figured I'd get one from there since they are on sale, just don't know which one??? Any features I don't need? Remember; I don't do much driving, I will need it for house hunting next year, under $200 would be nice, she'll be kept in the seat storage when not in use, thanks for your help!

I'm no paint expert, I've only restored a Chrysler Cordoba; removed the rust, filled, sanded and got ready for paint. BUT, I've watched videos on paint chip repairs, like the pearl coats, and they showed a 3 step process.
