hvmontoya
so i tried to search the forum for similar post but couldn't find anything, has anyone installed a subwoofer in the storage bin located in the trunk space? I have a 2016 dodge journey. dhh3
jkeaton
Not that I am aware of. It would have to be a pretty flat sub. and depending on if you have third row seating, a pretty small one. Also, you only need to ask the question once. Posting the same question in multiple threads will lead to confusion. Edited June 13, 2016 by jkeaton dhh3
dhh3
I think Lobitz did, but he hasn't been around for a while. jkeaton
fazio
I am in the process of installing a pair of subs and an amp. I made a custom fiberglass enclosure molded from the storage bin. I will try to post a thread when I am fully done. This is my first fiberglass enclosure. Marc Howell
That looks like a good start there, are you lining the box to stiffen it up Eg milkshake, resin..... dhh3 and fazio
dhh3
Where are you storing the jack? jkeaton
fazio
The jack is under the bin. That is why I have handles on the box, to be able to lift it up when I need to access the jack dhh3 and jkeaton

After I molded the box using fleece and resin, I used fiberglass mat to reinforce it from the inside. dhh3 and jkeaton
Marc Howell
After I molded the box using fleece and resin, I used fiberglass mat to reinforce it from the inside. You still need to add mass to the box as fibreglass is nowhere near as dense as your baffle and will flex and you'll lose the depth/volume in the sound. What size subs did you install. jkeaton and dhh3
fazio
10". I added 3 layers of fiberglass mat. I can stand on top of the box and it doesn't budge. dhh3 and jkeaton
