esp and traction control light

Recommended Posts

coming home from dinner tonight I hear a chime and then my esp light and traction control light come on . if I hit the esp button the traction light will go off.

my code reader shows no codes but I think it just does basic stuff .

2009 2.4 liter with the four speed. car shifts and drives okay....

any thoughts ? guess will have to go to my local parts store to see if they can read a code

I suspect I lost a wheel speed sensor but not sure which one

well after much searching I found a reset for the esp has system .

I disconnected the battery for about 10 mins , after that the esp bad and traction control lights where still lit. abs lights where not .mstarted the truck and turned the wheel stop to stop first turning it right and then turning it left and returning to center position. turned of the truck and restarted. esp and traction control lights where still on .min and then drove it abut 20 feet and both lights went off..

will see if the light stays off and if not I know the problem is in the stearing wheel sensor...

must of been a glitch or something .

now going to find my self a better scanner , I see Bosch has one for $99 bucks that reads abs stuff ..

I have a 2014 Journey AWD and i have the traction control button. If i push it i can spin all 4 tires but i noticed when i was driving in some mud messign around it wouldnt let me slide it the light on the dash came on and was dinging. is that the stability control? If so how do i turn this off? Is it just a matter of holding down the traction control button a few seconds?

Your owners manual will describe the operation of the system.
