Average Speed

If you must know average mph you could set the Trip odometer

at the beginning and write down the engine hours shown in the EVIC

when start the trip.

Simply divide the trip odometer milage by the change in engine hours

to give you average miles per hour.

This won't work. Engine hours are by the hour - not minutes. Could be 3 minutes after or maybe 58 minutes after the hour - not accurate. Use your GPS. Edited by Rubberdude88

I don't know if the 2012 and up has it in the evic but in mine a 2011

SXT the evic shows hours-minutes-seconds in the trip menu and it

starts timing when you set the trip odometer,I have used this method

myself.

My apologies bigstr. You are correct. I was looking at the "engine hours" screen in the EVIC.
