bigtsr
Are you applying the brakes when this occurs? Does it occur if you use manual mode and downshift manually?

Bubsy1106
it seems to do it both when we brake or when we are just coming to slow stop with our breaking, like when you just take your foot off the pedal. I shouldn't have to get new brakes when we bought the car brand new on had 3 miles on it.
D-BesT
mine does that when I am coming to a stop too... feels like the trannie going from second into first roughly.. does it most of the time, but not always.
StarBeast
Yes, we bought our's late March and about a month later it started doing that. The car has been at the dealership for repairs for this issue for 2 weeks now. After going back and forth with Chrysler they seem to think that it's the Valve Body in the Transmission that is causing this issue. They ordered a part, however it was hard to come by as the part is on Backorder. They called me this morning and said that they the part should be in tomorrow. I'm hoping that this will correct the issue. Sucks that on a brand new car they already have to crack open the transmission.
OddJob
My 2010 would bang and the unit would jump ahead when you stop, started at 3000km on a vac trip to the blackhills. I told them it was valve body. After a year of ignoring me the tech finally had it happen and he said he thought he was rear ended it was so violent. Turns out the trans was full of metal fillings and the valvebody would stick and when I stopped it built up alot of pressure then would shift into 1st delayed like you popped the clutch. So far im at 6500km on the 2012RT and its shifting fine. I sure hope yours is ok. It really takes alot out of the excitement of a new unit when its got a problem. bigunclejethro
I have noticed this too and I believe it is the granny kicking in. When you break hard the tranny can be used to slow the car down faster, you commonly downshift standards this way to reduce break wear. Its not anything to worry about these trannys are built like rocks
