2011 JOURNEY R/T

Hello everyone, I'm looking at buying new journey, but i'm having a hard time trying to figure out if any smaller rims would fit on the thing

what im looking for is to find out if 16" or 17" rims would fit on the R/T

and if so is there a specific off set that i would need or?

basically im asking this because of the lack of availability on the 19" tires and every dealer ive talked to has either told me 16" will work, and that they wont and nothing but the 19" or above will fit

i live in a cold weather climate with tons of snow in the winter, so winter tires a must

sorry if this has been hard to read, its been a long day

thanks for all your time

Anyone have any pics of 16s on their Journey? I know I can check out a base SE, but would like to see some pics of steelies and if it looks funny or not.

I was thinking either grabbing 16" Wrangler rims or even the 17"...I presume these two options would also fit over the brakes and rotors?

Another wheel alternative I've learned about is from the 2011 Durango. The base wheel is 18X8 with a 5X127 bolt pattern and 56.4mm positve offset. I found a set on Ebay and will post results and pictures once I get them mounted on my Journey. I'm going with a 235/55-18 as they are roughly the same diameter as the 225/65-17 on her now.

EDIT: The Durango wheels will bolt up and have no clearance issues on the rear. However on the front the difference in offset and the thicker wheel hub rubs the caliper. A wheel spacer or wheel adaptor could be used (preferably hub centric for either) but I'm going with a different wheel (American Racing AR95T 18X8 with Nitto NT850+ CUV 235/60VR-18).

If any of you Canadian's have a fountain tire near you, I was able to get 16" rims from them for $76.95 a piece. I did test them out on the front and back for fitment, and they do fit. There isn't a heck of a lot of clearance between the caliper and the rim, but they definitely fit and turn freely. They are 40mm offset from what I read on the box they came in... Was the cheapest I could find in the city I am... Dodge wanted $125/rim, and Kaltire wanted $90/rim.
