well I started using a new spray wax and I really like it,,,   bought off amazon...

Griot’s Garage Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax, SiO2 Spray for Cars, Trucks, and RV’s, Provides Protection and Water Beading on Paint, Wheels, Plastic, Rubber Trim, Chrome, and More,

then I used a microfiber rag and some car wash soap along with a  Synthetic clay bar Sponge that I had bought a long time ago but really didn't use very often and gave the journey a good wash using both at the same time removing old crap or wax and then air dried the journey with my leaf blower ,and then then just used the spray wax like I normally do when I use regular detail spry and then reapplied another coat later on after a few hours,,MAN the journey feels like a baby's butt smooth and slick and has been staying clean as well,I really  like the new wax so much I re-bought the same wax but in a gallon jug ,better price over the long haul,,I am NOT into doing wax jobs (since I am a 73 yr old man) that wears me out so this ended up being something I thought you all might want to try.......

Synthetic Clay Bar Ball, SPTA Clay Bar Block, 1Pc Hand Clay Bar Pad for Car Detailing, Clay Bars Pad Auto Detailing, Clay Bar Sponge for Car Detailing

Where do I line up to get my car washed by you? I hate to admit it, I used to kind of enjoy washing my cars when the kids were little and 'helped' me. I now take them in to get a full hand washed and wax every 2-3 months, with a basic hand wash in between. No little kids around to dirty it like before, and I opt for a nice motorcycle cruise instead of a home car wash nowadays.

Great job though, and thanks for the info.  👍

The two-coat approach with the spray wax is interesting, and air drying with a leaf blower beats dragging a towel across the paint. I get the appeal of a wash that doesn't wear you out. I haven't tried a clay sponge myself, so I can't say how it compares to a traditional bar, but the logic of knocking off old wax before sealing makes sense. The motorcycle cruise sounds like the better use of an afternoon anyway. Does the spray wax hold up through Florida rain, or do you reapply after a downpour?

I have done it with a regular clay bar and it was good just takes a lot longer and if you drop the clay you have to throw it away and use new clay, with the sponge clay bar pad no worries about if you drop it just rinse it off and carry on,,, and yes it does a fairly good job and I really love this spray wax as it goes on easy and just wipe it till it dries, seems to hold up for a really long time, about once a week I just reapplied the spray wax and wipe it down with a clean microfiber cloth. in Alabama sun and rain
