GriffinJourney
My 2017 Journey SXT developed a issue over the weekend. I drove home Friday with no problems. I didn't drive anywhere Saturday. Sunday morning the car wouldn't start. At first it said the key fob wasn't detected. That went away but nothing else - still no start. I popped the hood thinking I needs to jump it off, but I heard the clicking of relays going on and off, repeatedly. I couldn't get it to start. After church the battery was dead. I took it out to charge it (Kudos to the engineers who thought going through the wheel-well is a good place the put the battery!). I was able to get it started, but now the backup camera, climate control, and heated seats and steering wheel don't work. The screen is there, but nothing happens when I tap a button, and nothing happens when I turn up the fan. Radio and bluetooth still work. 2late4u
so how old is the battery???? if over 3 yrs old you probally need a new one,,you could have the battery load checked at your local part store. they can also check the alternator as well to make sure it is putting out the correct current to the battery..Most of the electronics wont work correctly with a low charged battery,,,also if you had read your manual it would have showed you where you can check your battery or jump it using the 2 locations on the drivers side firewall one is covered with a red cover to indicate the positive side of the battery current... also make sure when replacing the battery you use the correct size and group number and also make sure the clamps are clean and tight after the install,we get a lot of folks that come here for info and help and then later on find out they had a loose connection at the battery.....Welcome to the group as well larryl
larryl
If you don't know where the battery is in a Journey you shouldn't have bought it.. Just kidding like 2late said there can be lots of problems crop up with a bad or weak battery Good luck jkeaton
