High pitched ringing when off for hours

Recommended Posts

As the title suggests, my '10 Journey was making a high pitched ringing sound, almost like tinnitus. It started sometime overnight; when I got up this morning I could hear it from my front door. Nothing was left on or running and it had been at least twelve hours since it was last driven. There are no error messages on the dash indicating an issue. It did rain a little bit overnight, if that makes any difference.

The sound seems to coming from the left side of the engine area - specifically, it is loudest up inside the left wheel well. Any idea what the issue/source could be?

Welcome to the forum.

Sorry to say this but without any background history of any recent problems/repairs. It is hard to come up with a pinpoint solution for you. my best GUESS would be a relay on the TIPM/fuse panel on the drivers side under the hood.

The 08 - 10 are getting old now and were noted for TIPM/Fuse panel troubles.
