Adding Back-Up Camera

Recommended Posts

Recently purchased a 2018 Journey that has the factory smaller 4.3” touch screen and no back-up camera . We want to install a factory style back up camera to this model.

I’ve seen wiring harnesses with a factory camera on them being sold online and was wondering if they would work on a non-factory installed model and be a simple plug and play installation.

If you search here. You will learn factory unit needs to be activated by either dealer or programs like ALFAOBD.

People often just go all aftermarket,  dash unit and cam for less hazzle. To not lose  current 4.3 built in stuff means aftermarket interface needs to be added at the same time. Door chimes, heater controls etc.
