Info about the Sliding Armrest

Just a quick question for all fellow Journey owners. Is it normal that when the armrest is fully forward covering the cubby hole there's a gap between the bottom of the armrest and the center console it sits on??? This does not occur when it's slid all the way back. I may be obsessive, but it's something I'm conerned about....

It's that way on my R/T too.
