Installed FM / Satalite Antenna Cannot find Satalite connection at Radio

Recommended Posts

I bought a used 2012 Dodge Journey. I had some things wrong with it.  I broken liftgate. I bought one that came with a backup camera my original one did not have this. I have the SE model.  The antenna was broken and I could not get the bolt out so I went to eBay and found one that had both Satalite and FM. I found the satellite connection under the headliner sitting empty and plugged that one and the antenna into the white antenna port.  I opened up the radio head unit area hoping that just like back at the rear Id find the yellow/orange (Sorry color blind a little) connector waiting for me and all id have to do is find the right head unit swap them and id not only have FM radio like normal but id have satellite radio. But I'm not sure where they hid that thing in the head unit side.  On the back, it was just sitting in an empty connector looking all lonely.  Does anyone know if there is a part that's missing in the head unit area I need to buy?  I saw 5091095AA  someplace but I'm not sure that's what I need.  Well besides the head unit that has satellite. Im hoping that if I get lucky ill have a satellite. a backup camera that works and radio after a head unit swap.

Thank you to anyone in advance that can shed some light on this.

Joe.

This is the connector I connected my new dual antenna to.

Just really weird I found this on the floor on the passenger side under where the fuse box is. If I had not seen the carpet out of place I would have never stumbled on to it.

Guess I need to buy the new head unit and hope it works now. Not sure if the backup camera will work or not.
