Some factories will shut down a week for thanksgiving and 2 weeks for christmas. Considering it is a slow economy, I am willing to bet that is what happen. I work in the Chrysler minivan plant and we are able to contact our scheduling department and have our employee vehicles put in sequence ahead of regular customer purchases. When I submitted my request, they were told the journey plant was holding build of all R/t's for part shortage. That was almost a month ago. Still no VIN and my vehicle has yet to be put into production. Union in my plant has been unable to get a clear answer as to why. Just wondering if anyone has heard any rumors that may help explain. Our fleet leasing company, that we use, ordered my (the companies) 10' R/T awd on Oct 2,09'. The vehicle was finally made, and then shipped from Mexico, in mid Dec, so they tell me???. Last summer I needed some work done on my Cummins and the dealership could not get hardly any parts for anything and did not even know when they would be able to get them.
