  1. So, it might be more practical to add my own DRL, maybe LEDs , but now have to figure out a wiring process.
  2. I thought this was solved already based on the above post.
  3. I have the same problem/request and very interested in the answer. My 2014 Limited was purchased in Miami, Fl and the dealer has been trying.
  4. So another problem I've encountered this past weekend is with trickle charging my new Journey. Basically I've parked it for the next two months so I attach an automatic battery trickle charger (2A) only to notice that the dash info center (between the gauges) lights up saying "press brake pedal to start" plus the ignition button light is also on. Yet the car is locked and I'm outside the car. Any clues? I've never encountered this with my other cars.
  5. You might be right since mine started once the tow truck driver rotated the steering wheel to lock it. Thank you for the tip.
  6. This just happened to me with my new 2014 Journey. "No key detected". I actually parked, turned off the engine, came out and no response with pressing the door lock. I first though that my passenger may not have locked his door properly but it was. So I got back in the car to restart it and that's when I got the "no key detected". I called my sister to bring my second key and got the same response. So I called the dealer (car is only a month old) and they had no answer since both keys were tried. I called Chrysler Roadside assistance and arranged a tow. Unfortunately I was parked on the 5th floor so it limited the size of tow truck available. After 3 hours an appropriate sized tow arrived, lifted it up from the rear (I was parked forward), pulled it out a few feet, went inside to lock the steering wheel and it just started. Yet I had tried several times over the 3 hr wait and the tow truck driver also tried on first arrival. I drove it to the dealer and nothing found, specifically no codes found. A mystery!
  7. There are many choices but I would go all aluminum. Most are 60" x 20". Mine is roughly 48" x 36" aluminum except for the "spine" (some are totally aluminum) with a removable side ramp. I've put extra luggage on it and even transported my snow blower on it. I bought mine from Princess Auto here in Ontario, Canada for $150. They are similar to Harbor Freight in the US.
  8. Below is the procedure for programming a key from my 2006 Ram 1500 manual: Customer Key Programming You can program new keys to the system if you have two valid keys by doing the following: 1. Insert the first valid key into the ignition and turn the ignition to the ON position for at least 3 seconds but no longer than 15 seconds. Turn the ignition back to the OFF position and remove the first key. 2. Insert the second valid key and switch the ignition to the ON position within 15 seconds. After 10 seconds the Security Light will begin to flash. Turn the ignition back to the OFF position and remove the second key. 3. Insert a blank Sentry Key into the ignition and switch the ignition to the ON position within 60 seconds of having removed the second key. After 10 seconds the Security Light will stop flashing, then turn on for 3 seconds; then turn off. The new Sentry Key has been programmed. The Keyless Entry Transmitter will also be programmed during this procedure. Repeat this process to program up to an additional 6 keys. A maximum of 8 keys can be programmed to the system, including the original keys provided with the vehicle.
  9. Of all the tow hitches I've seen for the Journey, the Curt looks the best IMHO. My Journey is in south Florida and Perrine Trailer Hitches quoted me an installed price including tax of $215.07 for Draw Tite but they also carry Curt. Wiring is a separate cost. I'm installing it for my bike or cargo carrier so no need for wiring as yet.
