Well mine is supposed to ship on July 10th and I am being told by my dealer it should arrive on July 24th. I live in the Phoenix, Az. area. I am not sure if they mean you could get yours a few days earlier living in TX. I think that mine has to come through El Paso before coming to Az. Seth

Rob, I am glad to see you are so close to getting your Journey. It has been so long. Well, I had an interesting day yesterday. First, I got an email from Dodge saying thanks for subscribing to our site. That is all it really said. I thought -- hmmm -- I signed up for that back when I order the car. Why I am getting this now. I got a little excited since I have been in D status for 7 weeks -- maybe it has changed. So, I called 800 # and yes status just changed to D1 with a ship date of 7/10/08. So, it seems that the email was sent based on the change in my status. I called the dealer and he looked it up and said yes your order has changed and it only takes 2 weeks for the car to get to the dealership. So, I am looking at having my car on July 24th. This will be a total of 13 weeks since we ordered the car. Quite a Journey in deed. I will try to keep everyone updated. Work has been a little crazy lately. Seth

Sorry about the name Chris. Let me know if the one that did get built is an R/T with the 3rd row seating. If so, I am going to see if my dealer can put some pressure on getting mine built. This is going on way to long. I really feel for Rob now. Thanks, Seth

Jim, Can you please tell me everything you order? I order went in on April 24th and I keep being told it is being held up due to the 3rd row seat being on back order. I am kind of confused since you say they built one and it is being shipped to Tx. Look at my signature to find what is on my order. Thanks, Seth

Caruby, Do you have a way to check the status of 3rd seat back order problem? I have been in D status for almost 5 weeks now. I am being told from the dealer it is because of the 3rd row back order. Thanks, Seth

It would seem that the 3rd row seat is causing some delay. I am not sure how it would affect the order in build. I was just told this morning that my status is the same 'D' because of the 3rd row seat is still on back order. I actually could see that it might just take another week so that they line it up with other RTs. Seth

Another update. I called my dealer yesterday to see if they could find out if there are any parts on back order that could be holding up my order. I have been in 'D' status for 3 weeks now. Well he just called back and told me the 3rd row is on back order, just like we thought. As soon as the part gets in then the car should fly through and be delivered. He also said since they mark my car as being paid for then I should get priority over regular builds. I will be on vacation this next week so I will be checking back in with the dealer on Friday. I will give an update to all then. Seth

Just an update on the VIN information. I emailed Chrysler and their reply back is that the 5th digit is what I suspected. G = FWD and H = AWD. I feel much better now. There is nothing in the VIN that specifies how many seats there are. The 7th digit just shows that it is a hatchback. So all of the Journey's 7th digit should be a 7. I am trying to find out what all the other digits mean but they didn't have that in the email. I am emailing them back to see. Seth

I am still at 0 too. I have been waiting 5 weeks. NiceTrip, I hear you. I am dying to. Rob is the one who has us all beat on the order that is taking the longest. I think he has been waiting 11 - 12 weeks. Hang in there, Seth

I was just looking around on the board and could the G = FWD and the H= AWD? I order FWD and I have a G in the 5th Digit. I noticed everyone who ordered AWD has a H there. I sure hope so. Like I said if it means # of seats I will be so pissed off..... Seth

Rob, The G in the 5th digit better not mean 5 seater or my order got botched. I order the 7 seater and I have a G in the 5th spot of my VIN. I will be extremely pissed off if it comes in without the 5+2. I need the air conditioning in the back for the Kids. Remember I live in Hell here in Phoenix during the summer time. We already have hit 110 degrees once. There are many more to come. I will be talking to my rep on Friday and I will be asking if he can find out how to decode the VIN or find someone who can. I will update all when what I find out. Seth

Rob, Thanks for the reply. When my salerep first called me with my VIN, 2 1/2 weeks ago, you supplied me with the list of codes. I called him back and asked what the status code was. It was 'D' -- which means assigned a serial code. I thought that meant the VIN. That day I went to the Owner's site and plugged the VIN in on the recall area. It came up with the R/T. I too thought that meant mine was built. I checked this past Sat. and it is still just in 'D' status. I didn't get a chance to call today but I will tomorrow. Maybe it means it is just a frame waiting to go down the assembly line to get the rest done. I hope so. I just wish they would give us a web site where we could check ourselves. Also, 2 weeks ago I checked with the free car-fax site and it had my car already listed. I could have paid money to get more info. I didn't want to do that. Well I go on vacation next week so I will have to keep the car rental reservation. Wish I had my Journey. I will update everyone tomorrow on the status code. Seth

Rob... Yes Hang in there. I agree with Rick. We are all behind you on this. I know I want be happy either if this kind of thing happens to me. D1 is better than just D. This means your are very close to getting the thing built. Shipping is the thing that takes so long since it comes from Mexico. I hope they can put the thing on a plane for you instead of trucking it up to you. Shipping isn't going to be as bad for me since it shows that we are about 200 miles from the Mexico plant the Journey is being built at. I would think my shipping time should only be 3 days tops. I would think it would only be a day but you never know with these guys. I will be trying to find out what my status is by Wed. Have a good trip -- even if it is work. Seth

Rob, Did you have to put any money down or sign anything with your order? Reason I ask is because when we ordered ours we put $1000 down and the dealer said once the order went in the car was ours. We could not back out. I hope for your sake that my dealer was trying to scare me into not canceling my order. Just prepare for a battle if the car doesn't get there by next Friday. Seth

Rob, That is absurd. It should have never taken this long. I still think it had to do with the NAV system. I am wondering if all of the ones that are getting the NAV system are going to be built at the same time. I am in D status but that was 2 days ago. It could be in D1 today. I hope that once it gets to D status that the plant understands that the cars are special orders and puts us to the front of the line. I will be getting an update on status Monday. After that; sales rep will be off for a couple of days. I might actually call Chrysler back next Wed. to get the status code. I will keep everyone updated. Seth

I bet he ment to say D status. This is were they assign the serial # which is the VIN. This is the status my Journey is in. My order went in on April 24th. My VIN is slightly different xxxxxxxxxxT222195. Seth

Thanks for the replies.... The status code is "D". My sales rep actually checks daily to see if has changed. He is going to be off next Tues. and Wed. so he will check again Monday right before he leaves. He has been pretty good with calling me back when I call in. I also was able to find the status by calling Chrysler Customer support and just providing my VIN and VON. I was hoping that my car would be built the same time Rob's was being built since we both had the NAV system. I am hanging in there. This site has helped a bunch. Hey Rob .. We almost have the same aged kids. I have a girl who is 7 and a boy who is 12. Girl is about 4 feet 4 inches. My son is 5 foot 7. They are both excited about the car too, but say I am just obsessed with this whole thing. All they see me doing is looking at this site or searching other information about the Journey. I am glad I am not alone. Seth

I just got my VIN # and my salesrep says all the computer tells them is that it is still in the build stage. It has been in this stage for almost 2 weeks now. Is there anything else I can do with the VIN # to get a status? I was able to plug it into the Dodge web site to see if there was any recalls and it did come back saying it was a 2009 R/T, so I know the # is good. I want more info though. What # in line is it for the actual build. Only reason I am getting impatient is that I would like to have the car within the next 2 weeks before I go on a trip. I know this might be pushing it but it would be sooooo nice to have it for our trip. Seth
