  1. This is clearly a design problem on the part of Chrysler. I have had the same thing happen on my 2009 Journey twice now. The vehicle has less than 30,000 miles. Does anyone know if Chrysler is aware of this chronic problem?

They have to be aware because the fixed the problem in the later models. I advised the dealer this and they said the best they could do is give me a discount. so I think it was $8 off.

  2. I bought a universal one for a few bucks, and it didn't fit. I ended up buying a pretty nice set for $70. The only problem is that now the rear calipers are hanging up to the point that the new pads were smoking and the rotors are warped. It's at the dealer right now, and they've already warned me that since I changed the pads, it is probably not under warranty... get ready for my fury Dodge...

What happened next? I just put a set of Raybestos pads/rotors on the rear and the left side was smoking when I got to work. Coincidentally, this is also the side where the old pad was completely gone and left a nice gouge in the old rotor. Right side wasn't that bad.

  3. So I heard a lot of knocking in the front end when going over bumps, potholes, railroad tracks, etc. It sounded like the entire front end was falling apart. Fortunately only 200 miles of my warranty left, I took it in to get looked at. It was the stabilizer bar bushings and linkage that "had play in it" and needed replaced. Took less than 2 hours. This seems to be a thing with Dodge. My parents had it on 2 caravans and it was the same thing.

  4. I have left my headlights on the past 2 days. It hasn't been dark enough for the auto to turn them on, but it was snowing so I had to have them on. It hasn't been chiming to remind me that they were on before I got out. Lucky enough they only stay on for 15 min or so then shut off automatically. Any ideas?

  5. This happens in my '09 too. Sooooo annoying! I pulled that black piece off (just snaps in) and there are just 2 cloth washers. I think the pin needs to be longer or there needs to be more of a solid washer there. Every little bump in the road or when you shut your doors, it pops down. I just called my dealer and they said they would replace the whole mechanism.

  6. It is a "known" issue. My dealer replaced both FOBs (not needed) and also replaced the "module" . That's all the info I got. I did resolve the issue.

Well, went to the dealership today. They obviously found nothing wrong and knew nothing about it. Couldn't get it to do it there, but then when I went to work at 4pm, it did it again. Figures. They said they would call Chrysler technical assistance and let me know what they say.

  7. This just started ... when I push unlock on my keyless entry remote, it sets off the alarm. Not the panic alarm, the regular alarm. Nothing will shut it off. Then, once I get the door key out and open the door manually, it switches into panic alarm mode and then I can shut it off then. It doesn't do it again unless it sits for a while. Any clues? My dealer said he's never heard of this and I have an appt on Monday.

  9. Hello everyone! I just finalized the sale today on my '09 Dodge Journey SXT. Deep Water Blue Pearlcoat. FWD. I'm so excited! It's a beautiful vehicle. Already christened it by putting the first scratch on it. :( Was pulling the hose to get the brake dust off the wheels and it rubbed on the paint and scratched the fender flare. Oh well, it was bound to happen. I got a great deal on it with the employee pricing plus and got fair market value on my '04 Trailblazer. We liked the surf blue better, but the dealership only had it in AWD, which wasn't necessary. I have pics but they're too big to upload.
