Hello,
i drove my Freemont almost 6000km now and got an average mileage of 7 Liters per 100km (33 MPG). The mileage of the modern Diesel engines varies in a wide range, depending what kind of trips you make with the car. The reason for this is the filter in the exhaust system. If you go mostly on short trips, the car needs to start the filter regeneration cycle many times more as on longer highway trips. When the regenaration cycle is active, the car burns Diesel fuel like a hog!
I think, the performance of the Multijet-Diesel engine fits perfect to the Freemont. My car has a 6 speed manual transmission, which gives it a little less pick up in 1st and 2nd gear. From 3rd to 6th gear the pick up is really good. I also had the chance to make a test-drive with the automatic AWD transmission, which would be my favorit now. Bad thing, that this type was not avaiable when I bought my Freemont.
I hope, i could give You a few impressions from our Diesel brother of the DJ. If You have any further questions, just let me know.
Greets, Robert
