  1. I just bought my SE Plus on Monday 31st January. Bought one off the lot as they could not find exactly what I wanted, so they said they'd install the $300 option of voice command to go with the already installed 4.3 touch screen. I am now being told that if they can't get the part in "within the next couple months" (!!!) they'd look at what else they could do for me. I would not have bought the car if I had known this, as I wasn't in a rush - I would have ordered it. Anyone have any idea if the 2011 u-connect connections are same as the 2009-2010 for the Journey? If so, then the part should be easy to get. If not, why can they not just order from Chrysler? If they have them to put in at teh factory, why can they not ship to the dealership for install? But other than this - the 2011 is a HUGE improvement over the 2009 (I traded in my SE Plus with 3rd row seating). Much more comfortable seats, smoother dash, tho less storage, and SO much better suspension, tho it is a tad "bouncy" but not the side to side wishy washy of the 2009.
  2. Mine quit too!! 2009 SE Plus. No warning, no noises, just did not work one morning. It has been in 2x now, they can't figure it out. (after first time they ordered a new switch. not the switch as both don't work) I had an appt for the 3rd service today but bought a 2011 on Monday, so their problem now! But I'm very concerned to see this is not an isolated incident. Good luck!!

    2011 Journey

not sure if youve seen one yet, but they're nice! I went and ordered an SE plus last night. 2011 are scarce right now, not many in, but many upgrades since previous. Touch screen radio - either 4.3 or 8.4"- and a digital info center between the redesigned guages. My fav - keyless start. Key is in your pocket, press little button on door handle to open, and then depress brake and push button start. Not bad for $23K!! It's quite fancy, and a much better ride than the 2009. The dash is alot more rounded, no hard edges (which I acutally liked) and I am told no more chill zone, but have seen it mentioned in all writeups and even vehicle description. Dark upholstry hopefully will not stain like the grey of 2009.
  4. I have the same problem with the grey upholstry, and I have dogs!! The seats are a mess. I was afraid of the cream/black interior offered in 2009 because of the dogs, but probably would have been better off. The best, cheapest way to deal with it - buy a Little Green Machine (Walmart of Canadian Tire, under $100) and you have to clean the whole seat surface. this does a wonderful job, but I am having to do it approx 4x per year with the pets. Or seat covers but unless you get good fitting ones, they look awful. It is just the 2009 fabric, as I did not get fabric protection on it and nothing is leeching out. I did apply Scotchguard myself, but it does nothing but smell up the car. It is my one and only pet peeve about the car. Just signed papers on a 2011 SE+ last night with the black interior so let's see how that goes. I have read somewhere that you cannot apply fabric protection on the upgraded 2009 seats, as well as any of the upholstry afterwards (2010/2011) due to the protection already built in. Any comments?? I have the dealership checking on that for me as it's then $200 I don't need to spend, but certainly will if it prevents marks in the future.

  6. I had my resevoir replaced on a TSB last year (I have a 2009 SE). As well, with the resetting of the oil change notification, I believe you turn the key to ACC, pump gas pedal 3 times, turn key to OFF then start the car. Should clear it.
  7. my front brakes were down to 10% at 18,000km. Not pleased at all. I managed 6 years and 60,000km on my Mustang before having to do any brakes. Brakes are not under warranty unless there is a fault.
  8. this happens with most, if not all "hatchbacks". I had a 2 door hatchback and every time I had the sunroof off, it made a terrible noise. Cracking the windows helped. My Journey makes noise when I have JUST the rear windows open, but if the front windows are open then it's fine.
  9. I have had a high pitched whistling noise since I bought my 2009 SE in April 2008. Have taken it into the dealership, they test drove it and then took another Journey they had on their lot out to check it. Said the new one made the noise too. I believe they told me it was the solenoid (sp) and was normal (???). Mine whistles when I get over 40 kph. Annoying to say the least.
