  1. With the warmer weather (AWD doesn't kick in) I'm getting 24-25 mpg on average.
  2. According to Jayco's website, dry weight is 3120 lbs and 415 lb hitch weight. Of course, fill the trailer with food, cookware, clothing, toys, potable water, etc. and the weight will go up fast. 83 gallons of onboard tanks = 690 more lbs if full. Obviously pushing 4000 lbs. Fully loaded, my boat is about 3000 lbs - I'll be picking up from winter storage in a few weeks. I'll post some photos then.
  3. I dunno, Caper. I didn't have the prep -sounds like a waste of money since my Journey has the oil cooler anyways. Trailer dealer hooked up the lights no problem. Maybe easier to just forget trying to install the factory wiring and just hook up a Modulite or similar.
  4. I had a trailer retailer install a hitch and wiring package on my 2012 SXT a few weeks after I bought her in January. The wiring works fine so far - no issues - towed a few times with the Journey. I don't have the tow package either. I believe they simply installed one of those Modulites or equivalent.
  5. I reset it when I'm driving - the remote start kills the average mpg - LOL Yesterday, factoring out remote start, I got 23.5 mpg round trip of 80 miles or so in very hilly country. Thought it was pretty good - hills bring the mileage down a lot.
  6. Thanks for the info, Caper - I didn't know what those hooks were for! That's convenient!
  7. My SXT has it under the front passenger seat - there's a very obvious loop to pull on. Here's how it reads on my build sheet CVGP Passenger in Seat Cushion Storage If I'm interpreting my build sheet correctly, it's part of the Convenience Group option package. I like it - I keep my winter hat and gloves there for when I go hiking or walking.
  8. Glad there's a fix. Hopefully it works fine now, and appreciate the update.
  9. I'll bet the Journey would be a terror for bracket or index racing. AWD for totally consistent launchs, 6 speed auto Mine did 7.0 seconds 0-60 on the weekend, so I would predict low 15s for the 1/4. The biggest issue the 2011-12 Dodge vehicles have in terms of performance - the locked ECUs and total lack of aftermarket performance parts. I've got my Challenger R/T for play, so I've promised myself NO modding for the Hero, but I'll bet it would be a terror at the track if you could add a turbo to that Pentastar.
  10. No, I have both vehicles - still have my 2010 Challenger R/T - she'll be 2 years old March 1st - just turned 20,000 miles before winter. She's pretty much stored for the winter right now - put the Battery Tender on her in the garage - did get her out for a run in early February when we had some nice weather and the road salt/sand was cleared. I had a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 and a 2008 VW that I traded in for the Journey - the beauty of that deal is that my payments are $150 less a month now - I couldn't go wrong.
  11. Sorry, I don't have a snowmobile trailer - I just used my landscaping trailer to take the sled to the dealer and back. No visibility issues, but the trailer isn't that wide.
  12. EDIT - no, you CAN use the steering wheel controls - I checked it with a USB song just a few minutes ago - hold the top button on the left side of the steering wheen depressed to FF, bottom button depressed to RW.
  13. Can't do it with the steering wheel controls, but you can use the soft-key as previously mentioned.
  14. I did full auto mode that time too, I didn't manually shift. Most guys that drag race Dodge cars with automatic trannys just let the tranny do it's thing.
  15. I towed in very snowy conditions last Saturday - had to pick my snowmobile up from the dealer after the service was complete. The Journey does great towing in very snowy, slippery conditions.
  16. Hey, the Hero did a 7.0 second 0-60 mph today - preloaded the tranny by bringing RPM to 1800 with my foot on the brake, floored and released brake at same time. Think with practice i can get her the high 6.0s. That's great for a vehicle like this. The Pentastar and 6 speed tranny really accelerate!
  17. is it a Cross-over instead of an SUV? I know mine accelerates like a sports car when the roads are covered with snow - it's a blast.
  18. Didn't think the Journey was a mini-van - LOL
  19. Chris, thanks as always for your help and useful information.
  20. Check your build sheet too - Mine has the following LMKP Daytime Running Headlamps, High Beam If you don't have this on your build sheet, I would surmise you don't have DRLs. If you do have it on the build sheet, I would print and take to the dealer and show them.
  21. Well, my 2012 HERO awd doesn't have auto lights - and the DRLs work just fine. It's a lack of dealer knowledge that's the issue. LIke I said before, Challenger owners have the same issues getting the DRLs enabled on those cars as well. The DRLs can be enabled on EVERY Challenger sold - but some owners are told by the dealer it's not possible, can't be done, blah blah blah. It's just cover for a lack of familiarity with the StarScan (or whatever the tool the dealers use now is) and the tool's sub-menus.
