  1. I tried the German made Journey rear bumper cover for my 2011 R/T and it did not fit correctly. I used an aftermarket bumper cover that is intended for the caliber. The width is nearly perfect. The fit is pretty good. Curvature could be more and I wish it was a little larger, but it will help to protect the bumper when I have to stand on it to get bikes off the roof. Looks pretty good too. Photo is attached.
  2. Well, compared to your Magnum, the Journey will always be sluggish. I have learned that a vehicle is what it is. . . It is quite an adjustment when I get behind the wheel of my 1991 Dakota. Great truck for what it is, but with only 125hp it leaves something to be desired. 2010 or 2011, both are a CUV not intended to ooze performance. I believe the 2011 is greatly improved, but both will serve their intended purpose to be a versatile vehicle for families or active folks. At least yours has the chill zone glove box!! I really wanted that, but Dodge left it out of the 2011. Peace.
  3. Very Cool R/T!! Love the Black. Mine is red.
  4. Really? I'm surprised by your review, especially in light of your history with the Caliber. I've been very happy with my 2011 R/T. It does have those extra 50 ponies (283 HP) that you think are necessary, though. The interior is great. The exterior is great. The transmission does have its own personality which makes some frustrated. Utilize the manual shift and you will not have any complaints with the engine power, I suspect. Not being able to watch DVDs and type on the NAV is to save some folks from themselves. It is my understanding that there is a fix for that with the Uconnect system. That fix is silly, IMHO. I would recommend the 2011 Journey to anyone interested in a sensible, well handling CUV with a little muscle. I would like to see a few more horses over the 283 that I have. I may put on a mopar CAI if it becomes available to see if I can get a little more out of the engine. As it is, I've had it up over 100mph with two passengers, two mountain bikes on the roof, and full of gear. It got there easily. I just took it on a trip around the Colorado Rockies; those are some hills, I was impressed. I haven't found much to complain about. Peace.
  5. I personally don't see this as a problem. Its cruise control. If you need speed on a hill, the power is there. . . down shift. Just remember that the transmission is programmed for the best fuel economy. IMHO, losing 3-5mph on hills is an acceptable compromise to get an extra 20 miles out of each tank. Those extra efforts on hills really do affect overall fuel economy.

    DRL

I did not choose it. I bought my journey off the lot. It is the R/T model pretty much fully loaded. Maybe DRLs are not on my Journey. How would I verify if it is included or not as a fleet option?
  7. 2011 USA R/T FWD 19 mpg in town 23 mpg on highway I've been very happy with my journey's power but, I have to watch my speed often. It is very easy to speed, both in town and on the highway. I think my fuel economy could be even better.
  8. I'm VERY happy with my Uconnect. The thing that I noticed most about the Ford system is it is so S L O W. When I'm driving, the last thing I want to do is wait for my screen to change. With my Uconnect, everything is lightning fast.
  9. I believe that mopar is in the process of introducing a RAM/CAI specifically for the Pentstar 3.6L. I've seen one on eBay in a preproduction auction from a dealer. I was not able to get specific info from that dealer about fitment. Maybe patience will pay off . . . Not sure if it will be designed to fit in the Journey, though.
  10. Yep. Thanks, that's correct. Favorites are a cool concept, but a real annoyance in practice. Unless you really have to hear every song on any channel by a certain band. . .

    DRL

My DRLs do not seem to come on when I check Daytime Running Lights under the settings menu in Uconnect. They are supposed to come on when the engine is running. I even got the speed up above 15mph (causing the door lock activation) and still no running lights according to my wife. What's up? Am I doing something wrong?
  12. Thank You. Thank You. Thank You. Its working. As simple as moving that little wheel, but . . . I'm not the sharpest crayon, I can't seem to figure out what the other wheel does.
  13. You can remove the shift knob yourself in about 1 minute. I replaced mine with the kool Mopar T-shifter. In total, it took about 5 minutes. I have photos in the photo gallery. Hope that answers your question. Peace.
  14. My Uconnect display options has the "Display brightness with headlights on" option grayed out so I cannot adjust the nighttime brightness of my display screen. Pretty annoying to have the screen at full brightness while driving at night. The day, night, and auto options seem to have little to do with how it works. My manual has very little detail on this subject. I suppose I am doing something wrong while trying to adjust. I can manually adjust the screen brightness at night using the "Display brightness with headlights off " while driving at night. Clearly, the headlights are on at that time. Odd. I would rather not have to adjust manually every time I drive at night. Can anyone help me with this? Also, a minor issue. Someone set my sirius radio "favorites" so I see a flagged message whenever that band is playing anywhere on sirius. Anyone know how to unset this? Thanks in advance. Peace.
  15. Does anyone know how to start a 2011 Journey with a dead FOB i.e. with the traditional key? I have heard that you pry the start button off and there is a traditional ignition key slot that can be used. Not sure about that. I tried it. My start button cover does not seem to come apart so easy; I stopped because I was afraid of breaking my button. My understanding is that the start signal actually comes from the key portion of the FOB and putting it in the key ignition will power the FOB signal so that the car will recognize it and allow a start. Am I right? Thanks.
  16. Thanks. I'm happy with how it came out so far.
  17. The accel and brake pedal are the mopar kit for the journey. I used a clutch pedal from a challenger manual transmission kit for the emergency brake pedal. It doesn't match exactly, but I always felt the pedals looked incomplete with the regular black emerg pedal.
