  1. Any chance you have a record of the dimensions? I've been quoted £252 - most batteries in the UK cost about £70. I'd like to figure out what battery I can buy, preferably without going to the hassle of ripping it out and measuring!
  2. I've had my 2.0 RT for a little over a year now and it is a good car. Only major gripe I have is the lies they tell about MPG. I'm lucky to get 32 in what could be described as "combined" driving - they advertise 45 or something similar...
  3. But would it convert US or Imperial MPG? Actually, it'd convert US mpg (it says so)...
  4. How did you get on with this? I've got the 2.0l RT model and he trip computer reports about 32mpg. I just did a test - only managed 80 mi on £20 of fuel. That works out at about 25.5mpg.. Almost 30mpg less than the quoted.. I also got fobbed off by the garage when I bought it... Promised letters and emails confirming a problem but never sent anything...
  5. At the bottom right of the part where you insert the DVDs there should be a three letter 'name' for the radio - REX, REU, something like that... The lockpick website lists which versions it's compatible with. Yours sounds like mine, but I'm in Europe so it might not be - it's REX which isn't (as far as I could tell) compatible.
  6. Once again, any brits? The 2.0 VW CRD engine is quoted at 45mpg combined (6.2l/100km or so), and I'm getting about 32 mpg (8.8l/100km). I'm going to have the dealer have a look at it and see if ther'es something wrong, but I'm a bit concerned that it's using over 25% more fuel than quoted... I've been testing it on highway (motorway!) drives etc, so I don't think it's me or my driving style, even if I'm am still getting used to 6 gears!
  7. Is there any chance admins could create a sub-forum for UK owners? I believe we've got a different set of engines, different entertainment system software and hardware, On that note, any UK owners out there that can tell me what kind of MPG you get? One of the main drivers for my choice of car was the high quoted MPG. However, I've been getting in the low 30s at best since I've got it (and done about 500 mi).
  8. I'm enjoying my new Journey and finding the entertainment system to be pretty good, generally. However, I'd like to know a bit more about it - what unit is installed in the UK? The bottom-right of the control says, "REX", but that's about all the identifying marks it has. When I go to the settings information I get the following: Application: 8.312 Database: WS14 - E - 0921 - 3.0.4 Gracenote: 1289 SDS: 170901 System: 6820 007 3.5 Are there any updates available? How can I get them? To be honest, the copying of DVD music has failed miserably, bluetooth is flaky as hell and even copying single audio CDs has failed so I'm keen to update it if possible to see if it improves!
  9. Yeah, I figured it was capable of multiple sources for the headphones/main speakers. Does the VES come with headphones when you buy it new? I got the dealer's ex-demo. They didn't tell me it didn't have the headphones so I think I'll be arguing that they should be paying for a pair if they can't find the original. Also, I'm in the UK so I'm not sure that the US headphones will be on the same frequency... Not seeing anywhere on the net selling them in the UK though.
  10. Vaguely related - does the VES come with a pair of headphones or are they extra? I bought the dealer demo car and didn't get any headphones with it, they don't even appear to be available in the UK.
  11. Yeah, but a Fiat isn't a Dodge now is it? Not to mention that the VW 2.0l Diesel is a big selling point. Actually looked at the fiat replacement before and thought they'd changed it more than they have. Just a new grille and new engines so maybe it'll be a big success!
  12. I thought you might get a kick out of a couple of photos... http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/247297_10150198519867203_673677202_7536009_536544_n.jpg - that's it in my drive. http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/247253_10150198409637203_673677202_7535169_2312859_n.jpg - that's the first visit to the gas station. £1 = $1.60 or so, so that full tank cost me in the region of $165.
  13. Had my 8 month old Dodge delivered on Friday. One weekend with it so far and I'm enjoying it. Everyone I know is stunned that Fiat are pulling it from the market - no-ones heard of it and they're all impressed at the price, MPG and style... Got some learning curve on the VES/UConnect system but everything else is good (do need to keep reminding myself to use 6th gear though!) One question I guess, how to allow the kids to listen to a movie while I listen to the readio - headphones I guess, should I have received a pair with the car? One of the remote keys is unreliable - going to change it's battery before I worry about it unduly!
