Terry, you are absolutely right. Chrysler is very fortunate to have been able to retain her as a customer. The root of most of her issue, IMO, is her selling dealership. They made a couple of half-assed attempts at repair, made the car worse and ultimately drove her to another, far away dealership. They don't deserve anyone's business for treating a customer that way. Hat's off to Franklin Dodge for accepting a customer with a car they did not sell, whose repair was already botched multiple times, and for accomodating her in the buyback process. It's not a moneymaker for them, trust me. But by doing so, perhaps they have earned her future business. She should not have had to endure the kind of stress that she has been put through; right on about that. If her new car proves to be reliable and problem-free, and if Franklin Dodge continues to do the right thing by her, then perhaps Chrysler may save face. It might be too late. Time will tell.
Couldn't agree more, the negative publicity Chrysler received as I said is irreparable.
I agree with Journeyman the fault really lies on the hands of the original dealership as you mentioned not only did they drive Debra to another dealership with their shoddy explanations and workmanship and who will be the recipient of all this negativity? CHRYSLER and they don't deserve it. Count me as a very satified 25 year customer. Debra, if you could please let us know the original dealer, I am so disgusted with this whole thing I may forward this entire Forum to Chryler, to let them know how they are being represented.
I also agree that Franklin Dodge should be commended for trying to rectify someone else's butcher job.
Just my personal opinion.......

Just to throw a part of a popular quote, I say "why not"? LOL
I was curious that's all, as to why go to that expense and hassle because both years are probably the same, but Totemus posted his reasoning.

Hello. Does anybody know if 2013 Dodge Journey (US version) headlamps fit 2014 body? They look exactly the same and as far as I know 2014 body is 100% carryover since 2011, but would appreciate if you have any information about it.
Thanks.
Just to settle my inane curiousity, Why?

The outside temperature must be below 40 degrees F, as measured by the Journey's Ambient Temperature Sensor, in order to activate the heated seats and steering wheel automatically with an engine start. At 40 degrees and up, you must activate them manually.
Journeyman425
Can I activate this on a 2010 Dodge Journey?

So what is this Clay you speak of and how does a noob start with this?
Clay barring is an old restoration trick used by many a car restorer. The process is to get a clay bar (Canadian Tire) which in itself is a bit of a misnomer as it really looks like a big clump of "silly putty".
Well it's easier to explain if you watch this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfEfLGL59GI or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezWMMazr5zo or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TvtVbqywxYs or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRwgnhCgwJE or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EtkQYGhl2Wk. There are so many videos on this subject on You Tube that I can't list them all.

Your Skye is such a cool car - very exotic looking. A modern classic for sure.
Thank you, it is so nice to have.

Washed our Journey today ahead of the 15-20 centimetres of snow predicted overnight. Couldn't stand to look at the salt build up!
Finally warm here, so washing the car with the many puddles around here is futile, we don't use a lot of salt here so that isn't as big a problem as it is further east. I am really itching to get my "toy" out and drive it.

If you've never used clay on a car before. Oh man is clay the work of the Gods because it makes a cars finish so great before polishing even.
I agree I do all my vehicles once a year, it helps get off all the road grime etc. you will be pleased. Don't do it too often though.

I had the dealer to find a Journey just like mine with no sunroof. I loved the Journey! I am finally so excited, I can't wait to get it! I will let you know as soon as I get it. Again, thanks for all of you that supported me in this process.
Such a shame this incident came to this, it is not something anyone should have to endure. Chrysler should be very happy that she got another Journey and not something else, the bad publicity about this incident they received here is really irreparable, and if it becomes more common knowledge on the internet, even worse.
Personally I am very happy with my 2010 Journey and it's sunroof. I have been very fortunate with it, it is very weatherproof and has never leaked, but for Chrysler to not acknowledge or take responsibility for this IMO is a huge mistake.
Just my personal opinion........

Don't get the most expensive, but don't cheap out either. Especially when safety is concerned, as is the case with tires. I'm going with Yokohama based several factors......tire tread life, low rolling resistance, reasonable price, and by reading reviews on tire sites from actual users of the tire. I didn't even consider Michelin's due to the higher price.
There are several ways of looking at your arguement, the main one is that your 3800 lb. beast has only 4 contact points with the road, each of these are probably only about 40 sq. in. Michelins are not the cheapest tire nor are they even close to the most expensive. I guess the question becomes "what is your safety and your family's safety worth to you. The Yohama's are probably very good tires, they were more money where I live.
I bought my Michelin Latitude HP's at my local Cosco after getting prices from several tire dealers around my city. Yes I was somewhat surprised at the cost, but I knew going iin a 19" tire was going to be more money, just a simple fact of the economics at this time. This is something I had considered when I originally bought the car 4 years ago.
As I have said in the past, I am very happy with my tires, especially considering the winter we have had out here. Just my own thoughts on this subject......

Wow that's terrible, I have to believe there's more than luck involved. There has to be something wrong, after 36,000 kilometres our Journey has a combined City/Highway average of 10.5. I've used "Fuelly" religiously since we bought the Journey. Even in city driving alone I'm using less than half of that. We have very flat terrain here, but I wouldn't think that would result in such a significant difference. I don't use my remote start except in extreme cold (3 times in one week this year). After seeing the resulting mileage difference in that week, I don't bother. I would suggest plugging in the block heater if you haven't already.
I would have to agree with Rolly, I am certainly not getting the gas mileage he is getting (lucky guy) but 21 is much too high. I have been using my remote start and letting the car "warm" up more than ever this year because out here on the Canadian Prairies we are experiencing a very cold winter......how cold you ask....even the lawyers here have their hands in their own pockets.....I digress ....sorry to everyone in the field of law
Back to the topic at hand, there is no doubt idling can drastically affect gas mileage, I have seen mine jump 2 litres/100 kms. in less than 5 minutes of idling.

I certainly agree with FrogBox, Kumho is just doing what is asked of them, it's not their fault, if anyone is to blame it would be Chyrsler, and they were just trying to get as good a ride as possible. Kumho was just adhering to the specs as Chrysler asked for.
I am one of those people that has replaced the 225/55/19 stock Kumhos with 235/55/19 Michelin Latitudes HP's. As I have mentioned before, yes I would have liked to get more mileage from them am I blaming them No. In my case and my case only, I have no real complaints with my Kumhos even though others may have some legimate concerns.

rolly,
I run out and start my car every morning, it likely runs for about 4-5 minutes before I get in.
I tend to use the remote and let my car "warm up" about 5 minutes although with the deep freeze we are now experiencing it does seem to help much........

Hi Terry, looks great. It looks like you have the tan interior? We got the tan interior in ours because we wanted something different. When we got our Journey we ordered the Copper Pearl Coat ( I wanted the Pearl White but lost the debate) because it was unique at the time. Now it's quite common. They mostly have the black interior, so at least the interior sets apart from the pack. By the way, I love your Journey it's absolutely eye catching!
Thanks for your kind words Rolly, no my Journey is Stone White with a grey/black leather interior, I just posted a Dodge image........Sorry.

I would tend to agree why indeed would you buy a carpeted all weather floor saver mat. Personally I have Weather Tech mats and they seem to do a great job in my Journey.Certainly not saying anyone is wrong just my own opinion.....
