  1. I bit the bullet and paid for them along with all the other options (except the backseat DVD system; no kids) for the '13 model year.

I'm even worse.......LOL. I have the backseat DVD, I'm single and have no kids, so the only thing that may watch the DVD is my dog. Maybe I should put "Marley and Me" on for him seeing as he looks just like Marley.

  2. but we've never gotten close to the 26 highway mpg's we were led to believe we'd get :-(

IMO I think the ratings given are bs crap and never reflect "real world driving." I am sure they do the ratings at sea level , no humidity, no wind, well maybe behind the vehicle and eggs under the accellerator. Personally I would find out an average for you and your type of driving and go with that. I have said it many times before, I am at 16L/100 kms. and I think that is a bit high but it seems to be my average.

  3. That is a big rip, considering you can just plastidip your stock wheels for less than $100...or even go get them powder coated for a few hundred.

    They do look nice though...

I agree they do look nice, but as was mentioned it is way toooooo much to spend. Personally while not a huge fan of Plastidip, I have seen some incredible examples of what it can do both here and on the Sky/Solstice forums I belong to. I hate to say it, but I am of an age where chrome wheels were king, everybody wanted Cragar SS's or ET diamond spoke wheels on their cars.

  4. My DJ doesn't have any power steering noise. The only complaint on the forum is in extreme cold weather, the DJ power steering will squeel for the first couple of seconds after a cold engine start; other than that no noise.

I don't have the squeal but this year I burst my power steering lines twice in the extremely cold winter we had. When talking to the Service Department at my dealer they said it was not uncommon to see this happening in extremely cold weather.

  5. I decided to go with the 245/50/19 size because I think the speedo difference will be very small. Do you notice a difference between the speedo and GPS speed?

Personally I am very happy with the replacements, The diference in sizes is so miniscle that the speedo is not really affected. The ride seems slightly better but I am one of the few people that felt the Kumho's were fine.

  6. After six months of mostly city driving through one of the coldest winters we've had in this area, the best I've managed is 16 l / 100 km.

I am 500 kms west of you, and I will agree the winter we just went through was very tough. As you can see by the Fuelly tag below I am also at 16L/100 kms. My mileage is from day 1 when I bought the vehicle back in August 2010, Mine does take into account the excess "warming" I have done through 4 winters and all the snow I have encountered, I feel mine is a "Real World" account over these nearly 4 years.

  7. here's my freemont...

before and after adding some little chrome trims an a bit of plastidip on front grille

I don't want to hijack a thread but will throw out my car and what I have done to it, I too put some chrome on my 2010 Journey R/T. I have chrome mirror caps on each mirror, chrome gas door, chrome R/T emblems on each fender, chrome sill plates, chrome tubular running boards, "chrome" Buick portholes on each fender, "chrome" edging on the lower front valance, "chrome" edging on the front bug deflector, "chrome" edging on sunroof air deflector.

  8. I've tried looking and a lot of places in Toronto are out of the size 225/65/17 in the winter tires I prefer. Are 235/65/17 an okay replacement? Will it affect my 2012 R/T in anyway other than odometer reading slightly fast?

I think a narrower tire might be better in snow but there isn't much difference between 225 and 235.

  9. It really isn't a viable option any longer. There was a period, a couple of years ago now, when MOPAR changed the design of the hitch. That period between the old hitch and the new ones being produced was long; a year or there abouts. During that time, everyone was screaming for a hitch for their car and I'm sure every nook and cranny was searched to try and fill the demand and I doubt that you'll find one that was "overlooked" and laying about..

Thanks Webslave for your post. I must admit that I really haven't towed too much when it comes to different items. All I have really towed is my trailered 18' boat with an outboard motor and now my kayak trailer. I truly have no idea what the boat and trailer weighed but the kayak trailer weighs maybe 300 pounds and 2 kayaks probably 65 pounds each, plus a gear box at maybe 75-100 pounds so my car doesn't tow a very big load.

  10. Installed my bug deflector a couple days ago - finally got around to posting a few pics of my DJ today! I'm pretty sure Terry (Windancer) will like the color. The pics were taken at my parents cabin near Frenchburg, KY.

Looks Great!! As I have said before when I bought it white was not even close to my first choice, but over the years I have owned it, white is a very good colour to have.

  11. Have you verified that it will fit? That would be my only concern. I would look at Mopar wholesalers online and see what you can find.I'd search for you, but on every wholesaler site I've been on you can't just paste a link to the search, it makes you start a new search every time. I've also heard that a place called Lee's sells some of the older Mopar parts that you can't get at the dealer anymore, that may be worth a shot.

Edit: Not sure if you being in Canada makes this option more difficult, but I think most of these are US retailers...

I will ask my dealer for my part numbers on my car.

Just checked with my dealer on my work order back in August of 2010 the part used was 82210403AB and the vertical Receiver was 82208642AB. I really hope this helps.

  12. ok so tell me has anyone installed a mopar hitch that looks like this? because it looks so much more tidy

As was mentioned earlier both the 2009 and 2010 and early 2011 have a slightly different rear. Personally I have the OEM hitch on my 2010 R/T that looks like the one in your Photo. Personally I am very happy with it, Up to that time I had never seen a vertical receiver, but it seems to work well, granted I have only towed my 18' boat and my kayak trailer. I can take photos of it when I get home tonight if you wish.

When the actual hitch is removed my car looks like it has no hitch at all, when it is installed personally IMO it looks much better than the newer ones. Just my opinion ....... obviously others will differ.
