I will be checking this today.   I noticed this weekend that I have one reverse light staying ON.

Have any of you had this issue?   A while back, the clip that keeps the panel secure broke.  Over time, my driver's seat belt has cut through the plastic trim moulding.   It is getting worse, and sometimes the Seat belt does not auto-retract because it gets stuck in the groove.   

I'm looking for a replacement part online and I cannot find it anywhere.   

Any help?   Thanks y'all. 

No, I had been having some suspension noise and found degraded bushings on my control arms.   Cured with the control arm replacement.

This "check" was more of curiosity after searching around the forum and not seeing any answers.

Attached a pic for anyone interested.   I ended up tightening it back up and plan on getting back after it this weekend.

2014 SXT, 3.6L, FWD, 137k miles.

I attempted to replace both front lower control arms today.   I was able to replace the front right one successfully, without any big issues.   The aft bolt was tricky to get back installed, but I got it with small delay.

HOWEVER... I began to remove the left one, starting with the forward bolt.   Luckily, I started with that one because I learned that the bolt will not remove because the transmission is in the way.   The only way I can figure to remove it is by jacking up the transmission.   

I have never done that to any vehicle before.  Has anyone experienced the same thing while removing the left lower control arm? 

I will have to google jacking a transmission.   The 2 YT videos on DJ control arm replacement don't help much.  

Had it up on a lift today.  Gave a good look over, engine mounts and exhaust hangars and connections all good.  Talked to the mechanic that runs the shop and agrees that it is the ABS self test based on my explanation.   Thanks again!

Thank you all for the tips!   It's is a FWD.   I will check out the engine mounts, hadn't even considered that.   But it sounds very possible to be the ABS system check.   I'll do some more research and check back in if I find anything noteworthy.   Thanks again! 

Seeking some ideas to help me diagnose an odd sound I've been having.  2014 SXT, 3.6L, 137k.

So here's the scenario... only happens to me on cold starts, and always at the same time.   I start the car, reverse out the parking spot/driveway, shift into drive, and begin pulling away.   After about 10-20 feet of travel I hear a clunk.   Not like a suspension clunk.  It is more similar to what a compressor sounds like kicking on, or a valve opening or something.  But louder.

Outside air temp doesn't matter, but it only occurs on cold starts after the car has been sitting a while.

If I just idle away for a while after backing out, it just delays the sound.   Only happens if I am applying gas to accelerate away.   If I apply more gas, and accelerate faster, it just occurs sooner.  

It has been happening for months, but it seems to be louder now.  

Also, out of a weird bit of timing yesterday, I had taken my foot off the gas to begin braking when this sound occurred.  Just as I placed my foot on the brake, but before applying pressure, this sound occurred and I simultaneously felt a strong tap feeling through the brake pedal.

Any ideas?

I have wondered that same question as to 'how' the vehicle knows and I am prompted with a message.

I have zero evidence or proof, but my opinion is that it is mileage based.   I did a full synthetic oil change (like I have since I owned the car) a little bit earlier than normal, and 850 miles later, I got the message pop up.  Checked it today, still looking about brand new.  

I know some vehicles have sensors that monitor every possible component of an oil's serviceability, but i do not feel like the DJ does.   At least in my 2014 SXT I don't.   

Again, just my own personal input, not based on anything factual.   I have tried to figure it out as well, but to no avail.   I stick with the good old sticker on the windshield to remind me.   But I change around 6-7k even though the synthetic says I can go 10.   The old 3k mindset gets the best of me everytime.

This has been mentioned as a reply in some posts, but not in its own separate post.  Regarding an unprovoked popping out of the head rest.

In December 2020, Mopar pushed a notice out about an extended warranty for head restraints (aka headrests) popping out on their own.

Repair appears to be covered by a dealer for free under a specific item extended warranty.  

It also has reimbursement instructions for people that paid for a repair already.   I found the document on the NHTSA.gov website while researching the same issue for my own Journey.
