  1. Interestingly enough, after a few tight turns and a 200 mile journey, the indicator light cleared. I am again able to use cruise control. I will still keep the diff service on the radar for upcoming work.
  2. Torque doesn't see any codes, but that isn't a good quality scanner. It is AWD. about 108k. At the time I had slightly mismatched radius tires due to wear between front and back. That has since been replaced. Would there be any sensors in the Diff aside from the wheel speed sensors on the hubs? I did a complete battery reset of the ECU/Computer and the traction control issue came back upon initial startup. So am wondering if it is sensor related since I didn't even move the vehicle yet.
  3. My 2015 Journey has had a traction control light lit for a little while now. I thought it was an alignment issue but that doesn't seem to solve the problem after fixed. I first noticed it when driving thru a park, and heard a clunk in the rear end like a branch knocking against the bottom of my car. ABS light came on for that drive, but reset the next day. No other issues seem to have persisted - except the light stays lit and no cruise control. The wheel sensor cables appear undamaged.
  4. The wheel bearings are quite rusty and while they don't wobble, they do not spin as freely as I'd expect, so maybe them. The vehicle surpassed 100,000 miles earlier this year, so that is ideally the case and my new bearings are on the way. The axle nut specs I saw said 150ft/lb which is what I tightened them to. For a 2015 Dodge Journey 3.6L AWD, is it actually 118 ft/lb?
  5. For over a year I've had this noise in my 2015 Dodge Journey 3.6 AWD. It seemed to begin* when I installed new tires last Fall. The new tires I installed, I did so in pairs as I couldn't afford all 4 at the same time. The difference in the treads however was enough to cause some noticable noise in what I concluded was the transfer case. When I got the other tires on, a couple weeks later, the noise subsided mostly. But over time has crept up in amplitude and is now loud again. I've tried to research how to get into the front 'diff' but it seems to be part of the transaxle / transmission. Which makes me sad. The transmission fluid was changed out about 2 months ago, and aside from it being the original fluid and showing it's age, it wasn't burnt of indicative of heavy wear inside the transmission. I am unsure where or how the gearbox that powers the front axles and the drive shaft gets it's lubricant from, that that is what I am hoping to check. I've replaced the front axle shafts. The Right side one I replaced 2 years ago as that was making a similar noise on the Right, and that did solve the issue at the time. I replaced the Left one this past weekend, and the noise did decrease slightly, but there is still a noise there. Even tho the wheel bearings seem solid, I purchased new bearings, and plan on doing those in the coming weeks. *Note: I mentioned it seemed to begin last Fall. But like I said here, the sound was similar to the front axle sound I experienced 2 years ago, which upon replacing that CV Axle shaft on the right side, it fixed it. The noise is consistent with the speed of the vehicle, and doesn't change if the vehicle is shifted into neutral while rolling. Turning and breaking don't seem to have an effect on the noise either. The noise isn't noticable until you are going about 25mph+. Should I fear the worst, and start saving for a new transmission? Or what? :P
  6. Sorry I meant to say Injector in the last post. Injector Failure.
  7. It is the 3.6L The battery should be fine. I replaced that last summer. The most recent work was a transmission fluid change which was about 2 weeks ago. I did reset the codes and the only one that came back so far was the C1 Ignition Failure. But I haven't driven it since resetting yet.
  8. I just passed the 100,000 mile mark on my '15 Journey SXT. Within a couple days of this milestone, I was driving along and suddenly the vehicle begins to shudder. I scanned my codes and got this: P0128 - Coolant Thermostat - coolant low. P0301 - C1 Misfire P0201 - C1 Fuel Injector Circuit P2803 - Transmission Range Sensor B Circuit High Input I believe the coolant code was old and not cleared. The rest are new. My thoughts lean towards a fuse or sensor issue?
  9. Yeah, I was thinking more of a handheld standalone scanner, and not a phone app. I have torque and it is alright, but the problem I have is that I have such a big garage filled with stuff, that I keep on forgetting where I put the little bluetooth or wifi scanning tools. lol Plus I am more of an off the grid kinda guy when it comes to phone apps.
  10. Hello I am wondering if there is a suggested or recommended ODB2 scanner model which users have found works best for the 2015 Dodge Journey? I know not all ODB2 scanners work quite the same or display the same data, or clear functions the same, so any advice on which one you guys seem to have had luck with would be muchly appreciated! Thanks!
  11. It seems odd, as things on that site seem intentionally mis-spelled, and drawings / figures don't seem to always match up with what is being discussed. I was looking up front half shaft replacement, and it was showing me pictures of the bumper and headlights. >.>
