can a different year update be used on a 2014 Journey? updates not available for the 2014

What is a "Open source"?

I have a 2014 Dodge Journey that I need to update the software, I'm not very computer savvy , so any laymen's terms would be helpful I understand that the upgrade is no longer available uconnect. where can I find the information to help me upgrade the navigation?

Navigation wasn’t working when I purchased the car (used) the dealership said it needed a new radio, $600.00 to replace. Found one on eBay for a less. Installed it and put in the wrong code 3 times, message came up “ incorrect code- wait 30 minutes” , it wouldn’t reset , finally found out on a web site that the radio has to be left ON for 30 minutes. Then it reset with the correct radio code that I also found on a web site. Moral of the story.....get a new code for the new radio first

Got my navigation working. Was told to keep the unit on for 30 minutes. That did the trick. Thanks for the other comments

where can a person send the navigation to get repaired without spending $600.00.just bought the car (2014 Dodge Journey Limited )
