  1. You loose about 1mpg for every 1000' of elevation plus thier rating is for 95km /hour and for every 10km above that you loose approx 1 more mpg. So were we are, elevation of 2850' drops about 3 before you even turn the thing on and then an additional 1-2 for driving on a 100 or 110km road. So realitiy kicks in and we are going to have about a 4-5 uk-mpg loss over the door sticker. On my 2010 RT AWD this worked out to be about right, I was getting 25-28 on the highway pretty regularly on a trip of a few hours. 18-21 in town depending on season.
  2. Took delivery today of a 2012 RT-AWD. Yes have the 8" Nav screen. Nice to have the same Garmin nav Im used to. Unit is the tri coat pearl white with black interior and deerskin tan leather seats and door panel inserts - apparently a new interior scheme recently released. Looks fantastic. So far, 97km on the unit lol. My 10' was a 5 seater but I wanted the rear air and heat so this one is a 7 seater. Hope I wont miss the rear false floor storage. Chrome 19"- 6 spoke wheels. Sunroof, All the bells and whistles less the towing package as in the past 20 years I havent anything to tow and Im not starting now. I am very very impressed with the pentastar v6. Finally some good power. The old v6 was ok but this one is very very satisfying for the first drives. The new 6 speed auto shifts way better, no deadspot between 3rd and 4th shift. The new key system took me a few tries to remember its a push button and the door locking system is very cool. I hope I got a good one. Now off to order some weather tech floor mats.
  3. Had a 2010 RT in ocean blue which was pretty good, had a few issues, but what dosnt. So anyways saw a 2012RT fully loaded in that tricoat pearl white with black / tan leather interior and against my better judgment I apparently am taking delivery on tuesday. So I hope I picked a good one.

Due to an anoying "snap" that occures with body flex located just above dr side B pillar behind the head liner i need to remove the dr side Interior B piller cover (where seat belt adjuster is) Is there a screw under the square airbag logo above seatbelt adjuster. Is the cover held in place by the usual clips into the B pillar metal. Thanks

    I have this too. Only on the Pass side its the under seat compartment plastic if you have this feature. I havent taken the seat out yet to see what I can do. 32000km
  6. My 2010 R/T AWD has 19"s and rides fantastic. When new the rear end would kick up pretty good on a bump but after a few months, it really smoothed out. Handling is great corners amazingly well. I cant see why Id need better.
  7. Dealership finally saw the light and got the trans to do what I described. Tech said that when it did it he was scared he got rear-ended.... lol.... No crap I said. Chrysler said to replace valve body, same thing I told them was wrong in Sep2010. Oh well, I hope it solves the problem and other issues dont arise after a year of them ignoring the trans issue. 5 friggin times to the dealer. ......._note_ this vehicle in the post has been replaced with a 2012
  8. After a year , trans issue still pursits. 5 visits to dealer. Talked to some people higher up the food chain and after a week of being in the shop they got it to do the problem for them and now have a trans valve body on order. About time. Been dealing with this crap for a year. I told them back in Sep2010 that it felt like a valve sticking in the valve body....... but nooooo..... they said its a learning trans and resetting it would solve it........ nope..... didnt work for 5 times.....
  9. 2010 - RT-awd Pulling up to a stop while in D, with foot on the brake after about 1/2 second of stopped, the truck will jerk forward.(like tension has built up and then snaps) Doesnt happen all the time, but is fairly violent when it does happen. It is into the dealer for the 5th time today. Service manager finally has taken an interest in the unit and supposibly is taking it for a long drive. Also, the Pass side front wheel well liner vibrates like a bugger in a cross wind. You can grab it and the whole things moves as if very very loose. All the dealer did was confirm the fastners are in place. I told them to get off thier @$$ and glue the thing to the body. We'll see later how this went. _note_ this vehicle in the post has been replaced with a 2012

  11. 2010 RT AWD Blue 15,400km now #1 When comming to a stop and then stopped, then the trans would thump into gear or downshift itnto gear hard against the brakes (in D) and the truck would jump pretty hard. Fix: After 9 months, dealership reflashed trans ecm with updated software. So far in a month, I have not had it do it anymore. Im still pretty anxious about it though when stopping. #2 Lh Dr door or window has a slight slurping sound when driving but only in a Rh to Lh cross wind. Low pressure air pulling door away from body a bit I'm guessing, im going to adjust that door in just a hair and see what happens. #3 Rh Fr Pass door has a wird slight rattle once and awhile, but only in cross wind and or angled wind. Ill check out the door handle thing. #4 Used a paper napkin that was wet to clean off the chrome ring around the shifter and it scratched the chrome... Dealership would do nothing. I didnt see in the owners manual that Im to use a microcloth to clean the thing. Was pretty ticked. Other than that, it has good power with the v6. Economy is ok, not great but it is a dodge product and they have always been in support of opec... AWD thing is great. Truck is very quiet with the exceptions above that occur once in awhile. Handles great, rides ok for a smaller unit, all in all im pretty satisfied with it and would by another without much thought, so far anyways.
  12. The unit was probably still in a lower gear to give you the passing power and under hard accel depending on driving habits it might hold that until its sure power demand has dropped off. These trans do shift in a "unique way"
  13. 2010 RT-AWD 9800km so far Like anyting, you can go till u get stuck....... If you do get a bit stuck and cant get it out as the engine will derate when stuck to avoid wheel spin, click the EPS button so it ignores this for full engine power. Sw if equiped, is on the center dash near the hazard button. Sand can be a bugger, about the tie you feel the wheels slipping, it digs down fast. You might have to bleed half your air out of the tires to get more flotation getting unstuck.

After a recent 2800km trip (9800km in total on vehicle) when we pull up to a stop with unit still in D, about the time the vehicle stopped or right after, the trans would do some wierd shift thing for no reason and the vehicle would jump very notiably against the brakes which are applied thank goodness, almost violently. Did this 7 times. Dealer checked it, no codes, did a trans shift re-learn ?? and I am trying it again. Hopefully its has settled down. Other than this, unit has been flawless.
  16. 2010 RT-AWD Did a 2800km trip to Black Hills SD and back. Mpg in Imperial gallons which are larger than US gallon. Lowest at 70-80mph = 28mpg. (into the wind) Highest at 70-80mph = 32 ( probably down wind...lol) This unit has been since replaced with a 2012
  17. Picked up a 2010 R/T in March. Deep ocean blue. Sunroof (I really like this feature) DVD screen sitter for the kids... for back seat. No third row (didnt want) Stayed with the 19" 5 spoke wheels, 6 spoke look nice but I just liked the aggresive looks of the 5 spoke better. So far 4000 km and no issues at all. I find it a very nice drive. With the winter dump on us on the 14th (10.5 inches of wet snow over night) I got to see how the AWD works which was very well. Anyways, nice to have a website like this and great members for prebuy research and information exchange.
  18. Bought 2010 R/T in early March. Got call fr Sirius last week to confirm I am the owner and that my subscription is for one year. Near the end of the year, they will contact about continuing the subscription .
  19. I have 2010 R/T - Bought in early march. 4000km now, no trouble at all. Great to drive.
