  1. Dhh3,

Besides those weird noises, I finally had someone else look at it with me today.

He would completely press the brake with the vehicle off as I was touching the brake booster. The assembly itself moved upward more that I would have thought and there was a slight spring like release and sharp vibration within the Booster as I held it. Obviously this is what I have been feeling in the pedal. Ill keep everyone posted in a few weeks when i head down for my appointment.

I'm assuming there is a spring within the booster itself even though the dealer told me there isn't. I find this hard to believe because every breakdown of the booster itself shows a spring within the casting.

  2. Bling bling!!

    Indeed,

Would look so much better without Gold distraction right in the middle. Once reason I love the black out grill on the black crossroad.

    Dhh3,

I'm coming to terms with the boxy look.... My dog looks at me like "WTF" from the conversation mirror (no I don't use that) when I have all the seats flat because he cant stand all the way up.

    Just don't want a mini van.........yet.....

  3. Does anyone have service manual for this vehicle?

I'm specifically looking for a diagram of the Power booster and or brake system for my 2015 journey. I've searched through old threads, googled, and looked at the mopar website, and can't seem to access what im looking for. I'm assuming the 2013-2015 information will be the same.

I was told by the dealer that the journey Power booster doesn't have a spring. As you know I've been getting a springlike feeling every time my pedal is pressed.

Just trying to locate what could be causing the problem before going back down to test drive with the technician..

  4. Anything short of a massive increase in marketing of the Journey is a travesty. It's got to be the worst advertised vehicle with as much packed in to it for the best price I've ever seen. The "experts" who bash this vehicle have no idea what they're talking about

I've had the same cars for some time now but we needed to get something bigger as we have one huge dog, and another puppy that will be just as big. We haven't been in the market for a while and I had no Idea what Journey was. Sadly I learned about them while driving through a dealer lot. (Yeah that is pretty bad) Once I drove one in the 3,6 crossroad with some fluff I was hooked... The DJ is so much car for the price.

After we bought it, I went over to my friends house who has a rav 4. The first thing he said while getting into the car was "wow, dodge is really stepping up their game with theses new cars." Obviously he had never taken notice or knew what a DJ was since they came out.

I will admit that the new 15 crossroad wheels and smoked headlights/grill are subtle improvements, but they almost change the whole look of this car.

Its not going to happen, but Id love to see the DJ stay aggressive looking and maybe get a little taller. I cant stand the new suv crossover styles that look like rolling bulbs. This is why IMO the Tahoe is so awesome.

  5. Dodgecares,

I appreciate the time and concern. My next appointment is July 20th at the dealer who delivered the vehicle.

I had the journey back to the dealership on June 24th and was sent back to me saying everything is ok and we will evaluate on our next visit.

The car was sent down with an employee of the dealership so I never had a face to face talk with the service guys.

I still love almost everything about this car but I would just like this issue resolved.

This is the first dodge/Chrysler vehicle we have ever purchased and I'm willing to give this process a chance.

I've had many cars and worked on all of my vehicles including brakes but I've never encountered these issues. Most importantly I've never had issues after a few hundred miles on a new car.

I'm still waiting on formal paperwork as to what was checked the other day other than than the verbal "everything looked ok" and be on your way.

Once again I appreciate everyone's efforts and please let me know if any further information is needed.

I purchased (not leased) this journey with intentions of having it for a long time, and these symptoms were not present during our test period.

Dodgecares, I'll point out once more that our dealer has been accommodating, but something is just not right with this factory new vehicle.

  6. I have a 2015 R/T AWD, when I brake, I feel the brake pedal give. Not a lot, but it is like a spring gives just enough to feel, not enough for the pedal to give, but enough to feel through my foot. I had it in and checked. Of course they did not have the issue. Anyone else get this? It does it most of the time now. Again, I have had not lights, or loss of brakes. It is more of an irritation now.

This is exactly what I have been dealing with accompanied by the funky noises from the brakes themselves. I can get the noise to happen exactly the same way even with the engine off.

  7. Happy one year ownership birthday! I appreciate you taking the time to look at your vehicle.

Mine is in route to the dealership to check out my brake concern. I spoke to the service guys and explained what I've noticed and they wanted to look at it rather than wait for my 1000 mile checkup.

Only issue I have is that they dropped off a maxed out ram 1500 for me to use.

Kinda reminds me of my realtor that showed me a bunch of shitty houses before showing me the one we bought.... As Terry Tate said...."Its mind games"

  8. Dhh3

The front and rear bumper next to the side panels on every side seems to creek and pop upon the slightest touch.

It's something I've noticed while cleaning and applying wax and polishing. There is a chance I'm just paranoid because the car is brand new. I compared the spots to my 09 sx4 and they were concrete on that vehicle.

That being said the journey to this point is awesome minus a few things I've noticed over the past two weeks.

I'm not here to bash... Just trying to get information as I'm on the hook for the next 48 months

As stated before I'll post any new info regarding the brake pedal and rear left caliper chirp.

I'd also like to pick your brain about the ad mp3 player. Seems I can ask u connect through voice command to play what I want and it does so seamlessly. But when I click things manually it gives a "sd card read error" for a few minutes before playing what I asked.

Xm sounds terrible so I've been trying to get my music dialed in.

I bought a SanDisk card and just moved files from my computer into it. No iTunes playlist or anything like that.

  9. Will do dhh3. I appreciate you looking into the thread.

I'll call the dealer tomorrow and have them note my concerns before our "1000" mile check. The left rear driver side brake makes a chirp noise each time the brake is applied. It's not a grinding chirp or squeak but some sort I'd hydrolic noise. A stuck caliper like you mentioned?

I want this car to live up to my expectations. The engine, interior transmission, and exterior looks are fantastic.

My brake issue and front and rear panels are not.

The 3.6 absolutely hauls this vehicle.

  10. Hey guys,

I know this may sound redundant coming from me but I've never had a vehicle's brake pedal feel like this before. I've posted a few times that I get some weird feedback and noise when pushing on the pedal for the first few times. Of course I know the abs will reset upon starting up and first engaging the brakes from time to time but I still get a noise and feel of a spring releasing during my first three or so complete stops. I've also noticed I can get the car to replicate the feeling and noise when the car is off and in park. (Until the pedal can no longer be compressed) it almost feels like something is hanging up somewhere and then releasing. Along my commute it seems to go away until I start it up and head back home.

I have 430 miles on our 15 crossroad and its kind of puzzling me.

I'll be going back to the dealer in a few weeks but I just wanted to see if anyone has any ideas before I go back. This is something I didn't notice during my two day test drive and its new to me. Other than that the car is great.

I have never engaged the parking/ebrake so I have no idea. It could just be the way these vehicles are.

Any info or troubleshooting before my appointment will be appreciated.

    Thanks

  11. I've tried to utilize the sd card slot to play mp3s and it works most of the time. Sure it displays album artwork but it reads "sd card read error" anytime I want to change albums or artists. If I don't touch anything for a minute or two the 8 inch u connect will eventually play what I asked.

Is there a particular format or sd card this player prefers to function seamlessly?

I can't listen to Sirius because it sounds so terrible.

  12. My bad...

Find some new housing builds and steal some scrap 2x4,plastic garbage can,and a circular saw after everyone goes home.

Cut the 2x4 to length and strap everything down with ratcheting straps. If available make sure to use your leaf tarp to keep everything dry. Return the circular saw before the morning.

Or you could invest in a car rack that would transfer to multiple vehicles in the future for the price of three day admissions to watch 30 yr old actors in parades.

  13. Hey Ryan,

I am new to the forum here so I apologize for the delay. Mounting a roof rack is no problem. You need three components: Bars, foot pack, and a fit kit. Since you don't have factory running rails you would need a Thule foot pack 480 and fit kit 1658.

The fit kit is car model specific and the 480 foot pack is thules universal foot for almost any vehicle without rails or fixed mounting points. The 480 holds the fit kit and bar into place while the fit kit is contoured and hooks ino the vehicles door.

The ONLY car I've come across that needs to be drilled is a wrangler.

Any journey with running Bars (sxt or crossroad) needs a 450 foot pack.

Here is a link of what you probably need

Let me know if you have any questions as I've been installing these for a long time.

  14. Dhh3,

Upstate (lake George, saratoga area) where in NY are you from?

How did those new brakes and rotors treat you? I only have 300 miles on my crossroad but I've noticed quite a bit of feedback on the brake petal. I know others have mentioned this and I'm not to concerned as I had the same feeling in our last new car. (2009 sx4)

I expect to feel the abs while backing out of the driveway or upon the first stop or two, but I get the same feedback quite often during each commute.

Again not to worried as of yet, just something I noticed out of the box.

Thank you to all who said hello

  15. Good evening,

My wife and I just purchased a brand new 2015 fwd v6 crossroad a few days ago. I just wanted to say hello and that I hope to be an active member of this forum.

We were able to take this vehicle for an extended test drive as my brother in law works for a local dealership and we were hooked on the second day. It's surprising I don't see more of these around.

Our crossroad package has a back up camera on the 8" display, remote start and heated seats and steering wheel. These fluff options were quite difficult to find on a fwd version. I had been driving my wife's first car that she bought in 2000 for 5800 bucks as my everyday commuter (yes the zx2 next to the journey) so even a.c. is amazing.

I look forward to meeting, learning, and discussing....
