  1. Yes, they bulbs are led. Ill give that a try and mention it to the dealer when I go back to have the Struts and mounts replaced.

The suspension noise performed great when it needed to and like others here have said, they plan to replace the struts and mounts.

However I picked my car up to bring home until the parts arrive and found this. Was told its ok to drive for now. Man,,, my stories with this car just do not end.

  2. Hmm.. Kind of frustrating.. I have 7400 miles on the car. Love the car... However my patience is being tested as its been in the shop 6 times already. I never lease cars and I was excited to buy a fcjdr car for the first time. At 26000 to 32000 this car has so much for the price.

Hopefully my next post will be positive. 😀

Till then ill drive my sx4 awd that I got for $15000 with 4 miles on it 8 years ago. I've only changed the oil, brakes, rotors, and some fluids at 107500 miles. Thing is a small beast.

  3. Hey Guys,

A while back I had posted that my overhead driver side light flickers when the engine is no longer turned on. I'm going to have this checked out at my appointment on Thursday.

So I'm having two things looked at.

    1. As I've posted my front suspension has been making some creaking / Clunking noises when leaving my driveway and or when turning and changing surface heights.

    2. Im going to have this light checked out. (Check out the video)

If anyone has had any of these issues please let me know. I read this service bulletin and it seems about right.

"Noise From Front Of Vehicle Over Bumps Or When Turning OVERVIEW: This bulletin involves replacing the upper front strut bearing to correct the noise. MODELS: 2012-2013 (JC) Journey NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles built between December 01, 2011 (MDH 1201XX) and December 05, 2012 (MDH 1205XX). SYMPTOM/CONDITION: The customer may experience a noise from the front upper strut mount going over bumps or when turning. DIAGNOSIS: NOTE: The front strut should be diagnosed with Chassis Ears placed at the upper strut mount to diagnose a noisy strut bearing or to eliminate the good strut bearings as the cause of the noise. 1. Drive the vehicle to confirm the noise is in the upper mount area of the strut. 2. Is there noise coming from the left or right upper strut mount? a. Yes >>> Perform the repair procedure on the noisy upper strut bearing. b. No >>> This bulletin does not apply, further diagnosis required. NOTE: Do not replace the shock unless the problem is not fixed by the strut bearing replacement. PARTS REQUIRED: Qty. Part No. Description 2 (AR) 05171093AC Bearing - Front Suspension Strut REPAIR PROCEDURE: 1. Raise the vehicle on a suitable hoist. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT> TechCONNECT under: Service Info> 04- Vehicle Quick Reference> Hoisting> Standard Procedure> Hoisting"

  4. Hopefully DODGECARES and chrysler's engineering takes more notice as it doesn't seem to be isolated.

Sales have been pretty strong and this vehicle seems to be on the right track. So hopefully there is a solution soon. Besides a few things it's a great car for the price. From experience it can be a bit frustrating dealing with problems of a brand new "purchased" car so soon.

Sure we all may be over analyzing the situation but it's something each of us has noticed. Keep on posting and hopefully something will be noted and solved.

  5. Mine clunks once, in the front, every morning when I back out of my garage. Outside temp is not a factor.

    Dhh3,

Same here, it used to be only pulling in and out of the driveway but now i'm noticing it more often on my commutes. Ill see a dealer soon, however I'm just wondering if you have addressed this issue? I've read the tsb as well and if anyone has any input it would be much appreciated.

6800 on the car, I've had a few issues, but for what you get im not giving up on this car.

    Thanks

  6. Lobitz,

Its my front passenger overhead pivoting led. Ive noticed the problem when I enter the car, or when grabbing something from it when the car is off. The light flickers intermittently. It never turns off, but it quickly goes softer and then back to normal.

This doesn't happen when the engine is on.

besides the booster (Just happened to be mine. none of the other I drove had the problem) and the small things.....this car is pretty sweet.

  7. DJ,

I appreciate all of the insight! I'm happy to report that my problem has been solved after my second booster replacement and about 1000 miles put on the car going back and forth to the dealership.

That being said, I still thing this vehicle is so low under the radar.

Yeah.....I had a sh**** initial experience but I went through the trial and got t it fixed.

Not to sound like my nagging mom who always needs her light bulbs changed.... but my front passenger led light seems to flicker and pi** me off like the cheap cree led light I tried in my house..

Here comes another 1000 miles to the dealership.

At least I will have some power and the uconnect system.

  8. Hello

Here is a quick back story of my 2015 crossroad purchase:

Test drove the vehicle brand new with no miles and my wife and I loved it. 300 miles in I had trouble with my brake booster sounding harsh and giving spring noise and feedback into the pedal. The noise and feeling can be felt with the vehicle on or off. I can feel the spring release in the booster, feel the spring vibrate the booster while someone is pushing the brake pedal as I hold the booster under the hood, and I can hear the loud spring noise within the car while driving the vehicle normally.

I have posted numerous threads about my findings and have had nothing resolved.

    http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/topic/7396-weird-brake-pedal/?hl=%2Bweird+%2Bbrake

Our dealer confirmed the problem and ordered and replaced the booster and rear brake pads.

Upon all of the fixes the car pedal once again felt good and there is no longer a chirp upon braking. I did notice a bit of grittiness in the pedal action but it was much better than before.

After a week of driving, The chirp from the brake pads is non existent but the spring release and vibration has returned full force.

I tested 4 other new journeys on the lot and none of them felt this way.

My wife knows nothing about cars and she drove it today and even noticed how annoying it was.... I'm starting to wish that I purchased a grand Cherokee or no Chrysler at all.... I hope someone out there is having the same problem as I am. Ive also driven my friends 2014 Crossroad and the petal is as smooth as it could be. Help! Ill try another dealer soon but if I cant get this solved I may be on to another vehicle. Its sad....because its the only thing that is wrong with the car....I absolutely love the journey but I cant accept this with a brand new vehicle that had 0 miles on it. I still have transfer plastic attached under the door handles!

Again, the booster was replaced and the same thing has happened within a few hundred miles.

  9. Lol. My wife wants one as much as I do. Actually, I have to talk her out of it. I'm starting to think I need to give up my man card...I need my pants back dammit!!

She sounds awesome! Please retain your man card and hold on to that one. I had to justify mpg's on the v6 journey to the wife because I only drive 5 miles a day. Your man pants are fine. Is there anyway you can put one leg into her pants and create ultra mega super resonable yet "let's go fast" smartie pants?

However once she took the v6 dj with all the sweet stuff. She wanted the car.

  10. I finally got down to my dealer after a busy start to the month to check out out the brake noise and spring feeling in my booster. After explaining that you can push the pedal with the car off to replicate my main concern within 30 minutes the service writer came back apologizing that they didn't catch it the first time. A new booster and rear brakes are on order to be replaced.

Previously I posted concerns and a quick video of what I was experiencing. However I do partially attribute the first diagnostic of "everything is ok" to me sending the vehicle down with an employee who probably didn't explain the problem properly.

Thank you for all the responses of people who commented on how their brakes feel. I was able to pump the brakes of 4 other journeys on the lot and none of them had the problem that mine had. (just my shitty luck I guess)

The service writer did however find it odd that the parts are back ordered with no eta, so I might not be the only one out there experiencing this problem. Again this is a new 2015 crossroad with only 300 miles before I noticed this.

I will keep everyone posted on the progress.

Bummed I'm going through it, but happy something is happening.

  11. Yes.. A commercial besides the local guy selling an off rental would be sweet. I just found it interesting that after all the years the dj has been around that this June was it's biggest month ever.

Updated trims finally getting noticed? Incentives were pretty appealing as well. Crossroads and sxt's were 2750 off combined plus whatever your haggling skills were.

Pretty happy with the vehicle and the price.
