  1. To be honest, I never really knew the Journey existed. I happened upon it when looking at Durango's for my gf, which was going to be a bit too expensive for what she wanted to pay. Wanting a 7 passenger vehicle for those rare occasions when she had her sister and her sister's kid's with her, the sales person asked if I had looked at the Journey. Because of the very strong sales and incentives offered when I looked, the Journey ended up being a fantastic bargain...as long as the vehicle is dependable. So far, so good. and, based on what I've noticed lately around the metro Phoenix area, many other people discovered this vehicle as well. Even one of my gf's co-workers picked up a new 2015 last week. and there are a number of these vehicles around my area with TRP's on them.
  2. Any quality Class 10 SD card will work, but you can't use anything over 32GB because of the requirement of the FAT32 format. Stick to a brand name card where possible...the Samsung EVO 32GB or SanDisk Extreme Plus 32 GB are high quality and have fast sequential read speeds around 48MB/sec and 92MB/sec. How many files do you currently have on the card ? I would try a re-format of the existing SD card first, then recopy the music back onto the card, to see if that helps.
  3. I would have considered a Journey with the new turbo-diesel engine in it
  4. High compression, direct injection, motors would see an increase in overall power production with E85, but at the expenses of dropped MPG because of the lower energy content of the fuel itself, and the greater fuel flow to produce that power. As a cheap form of available pump gas that is the equivalent of high octane race fuels, I run it in my high compression C6 Z06 Corvette. It also burns cooler, about a 10 degree difference in my Z, which is a good thing when tracking the car. My engines also does not have any carbon buildup...and my exhaust smells like caramel french fries LOL. I produce around 15 more RWHP and 20 lb/ft torque when running E85, over 91 pump gas. For a daily driver, I wouldn't consider E85 unless it was a good $1 or so cheaper than regular 87 octane. Now, if you get one of these supposed 3.6 turbo motors that is coming in the future, E85 would do wonders for max performance.
  5. 32GB SD card works great...64GB was too big (exFAT format). Used WMP to rip my gf's CD's directly to the card, plus some content pulled from iTunes. All album art shows up, and the one playlist I created under WMP (just for fun) showed up and played as well.
  6. LOL...yep. I had a black 1992 Z28 vert, 305 TPI , 700R4, and tan leather. She's long gone now. I have had a number of cool toys throughout the years....I had so many 1st gen Camaros I kinda lost count.
  7. My daily...... The toy.... The Truck.... Her new DJ......
  8. When the Kumho's are finished, I'll move up to a 20" wheel/tire combo. You have many more options in that size, IMHO. I run 20" wheels on all my vehicles, with tire cost anywhere between 105.00 each , all the way to 650+ each (ouch).
  9. Do you currently own any other vehicles besides the DJ ? We bought the 2015 DJ SXT Blacktop because my girl wanted an ability to carry 7 people when necessary, and I wasn't interested in paying the premium for a full size SUV, or the fuel bill. It shares the garage with a 2006 Corvette Z06, a 2002 Lexus GS430, and a 2002 GMC Sierra 3500 dually 4x4.
  10. What's the size and brand of that wheel, as well as tire size ? Look nice
  11. Did a search and did not come up with anything. Are there any black chrome or gloss black emblem kits available for Journeys ?

I agree.....closed course is the responsible way to do it. I run on road courses, drag strips, and standing mile runway events, but I'd be fibbing if I didn't admit to running over the speed limit on occassion when in very rural environments with other liked minded individuals.

I'll wait until we get a few more break in miles, then see what she'll do. On a closed course, of course Maybe I'll take it with me when I take my Z06 back to the Mojave Magnum event LOL.
  14. Thanks for all the replys !!! The girlfriend wanted the clean look and user interface of the factory NAV, but I think I'm swaying her away from the idea of retrofitting an OEM into the car. Part of the reason for her getting this new car was to get a new car with a factory warranty, replacing her original car which was 5000 miles from having no warranty. Putting in an OEM NAV will require dealer involvement to add the sales code and activate the unit to her VIN, if I understand correctly. I'm not to sure how "friendly" our local service managers are for adding equipment after the fact (that they don't supply) and not trying to invoke some type of void warranty language. I thought the LockPick device was a plug and play install which augments the factory unit, but I'll need to look closer at the installation guide. Another thing she isn't aware of is the fact that she can't interact with the factory NAV, inputting addresses, while the car is in motion. Map updates are also a hidden cost that many owners get suprised by. I liked the idea of the LockPick, where she can mirror her Android phone's screen on the main 8.4" screen when running her phone based NAV, and she can use voice commands with the phone to control it.
  15. Hello all, We just picked up a new 2015 Dodge Journey SXT Blacktop FWD with the 3.6 V6.......nice little ride. My girl wanted a new Durango Blacktop but didn't want the higher payment, and she didn't know that the Journey had 3rd row seating LOL. She'a already wanting bigger tires and wheels, to match my Z06 and Lexus
  16. Thanks for the reply. Given the issues people are having with the OEM NAV, and seeing how many people on this site have tackled adding factory features like backup cameras, auto-headlights, factory radio upgrades (to add NAV), etc. , I thought I would see and read more reviews about the use of this aftermarket part in this community.
  17. Hello all, My girl just picked up a new 2015 Dodge Journey Blacktop with the 8.4 touch screen with Sirius radio, but without NAV or backup camera. I'm seeing thru various posting here that owners have been having issues with the factory NAV, some having the OEM unit replaced several times. Originally, I thought I would source a compatible unit from Ebay and replace her current factory radio, while also adding the backup camera option, but I'm having second thoughts about this because of my perceived high failure rate. I'm not seeing too many people using the LockPick devices with this automobile, which would allow her phone screen to be mirrored on the 8.4 screen and she could use her phone NAV applications. It also gives additional options for adding cameras beyond just the backup camera. Is there a reason this device is not used more frequently for Dodge Journey's ? Thank for any input on this.
