  1. Well, I appreciate the feedback regardless. Question, if you set your head rest down to it's lowest position yours stays in that location and does not rise? I do not think there is any sensor that knows how tall the driver is. I'm 5' 11". I'll lower mine down tonight before driving home and see if it indeed raises itself. Phil.
  2. Anyone have a comment on this. Thanks. Phil.
  3. Thanks, I took just under 10km and reset itself just before I got home. All is well. Take care. Phil.
  4. Can anyone confirm if it indeed takes a short 10 minute or so drive to reset the TPM to normal. Reason I ask is I just had P225/65R-17 Hercules Avalanche Exteme winter tires installed which are the exact same size as the factory installed Kumho's. The pressures are all set at 32psi as per the door decal and I had them filled with Nitrogen. The tire dealer checked and each sensor is working. He said the light will most likely go out after a short drive. Just curious folks. Thanks. Phil.
  5. Interesting. I have not seen those before. I see you are in Finland. Are these available in North America? or would you have a link to the manufacturer? My lights on my 2010 are only 24 watts each, they call them fog lamps but the light they cast is very poor and I have not seen much available so far. Phil.
  6. Okay so in our Journey's is it this system that keeps setting my head restraint higher or? I set it down to the lowest height, I get and drive around and when I get out I see it is all the way up? Not used to all this technology yet. Phil
  7. Interesting, can you send me a link to these HID's for our Journey's. Did that price include the harness and high energy ballast? Thanks. Phil.
  8. Yep, cheap is one of the expletive's I used. I'll have a closer look at it soon. Not much daylight to tinker here at the moment until the weekends. It's not really a problem to take it back. More of a inconvenience really. It's really not out too much, it's just annoying not having trim parts that aren't nice and aligned. I'm hoping someone will have an idea yet. Phil.
  9. Real HID's cost close to 800.00. What you're referring to is the Tuner Car XENON bulbs and yes they cost about the same as Sylvania bulbs but the filaments are very thin compared to the Silverstar's. I've had Silverstar (ST bulbs) for many years in both of Ram pickups and really liked them. Now I have the Silverstar Ultra's (SU bulbs) in the Journey and they are 'even nicer'. I honestly believe they are the closest look to HID's that you will see at a fraction of the cost. Sure HID's are incredible but the cost just doesn't make sense. I've tried the XENON knock off's and they aren't worth the aggravation. They just don't last. I live in Canada and I just bought my Silverstar Ultra's for 48.00/pair both 9005 and 9006. Parts Source has them at 15 percent off until early December. If you cannot find the Ultra's (SU Series) then the (ST series) are very close in appearance. I would have to say the light is thrown close to 40-50 percent further but the most impressive thing is the 'white light'. It makes for much better visibility. *Note* Passenger bulbs are easy to access, changing the drivers side bulb is a real challenge. You have to do this. 1) Pry up the screw holding the air intake to the front cross bar. Then pry out the plastic plug that that screw came out of. 2) Remove the 4 inch diameter flex air coupling from the filter box only. 3) Remove the smaller 1 inch hose from the filter box only 4) Pry up on the air intake to get it free from the air clean housing 5) Move your air cleaner housing out of the way 6) At the back of your Power Distribution Box there is a white clip. Carefully pop it backward toward the firewall. *It is hinged* *NOTE* MAKE A NOTE WHAT YOU DID TO UN-HINGE THIS CLIP. 7) Squeeze the rear 2 tabs inward and lift up on the back of the distribution box 8) Squeeze the front 2 tabs inward and lift the entire box back toward the firewall. 9) Remove the hi and low beams being 'very careful not to touch the lens on the bulbs) If you've had your car undercoated or oil sprayed make sure you get any wiring conduit out the way before you install your new bulbs. *Note: don't panic if your new Journey won't start after this! Yes it happened to me. Make sure you when you place the Power Distribution Box back onto the 4 clips that you snap that white clip mentioned above properly back into place. Then you won't have a fit like I did thinking oh oh...only 600km on my new Journey and I fudged it! Good luck.
  10. I notice this cover isn't quite lined up well on my new Journey. (This isn't my vehicle in this image) The front right corner sticks up a little bit. While the lid can be twisted a bit I wonder how I can get it sit down a bit in the right front corner? Any thoughts would be appreciated rather than going back to the dealer for this. Thanks. Phil.
  11. I picked up my new 2010 Journey last week and this weekend installed new Silverstar Ultra bulbs for both hi and low. Amazing difference. Nice crisp white light being thrown much further and wider than the factory bulbs.
  12. Those look nice and bright. So you removed the entire lamp assy? Was it a Dogde part that you installed? I checked around and the PSX24W fog lamp bulbs that Dodge uses are only 24watts each and look quite lame when compared to my new Silverstar Ultra headlamp bulbs. Apparently you cannot put higher wattage bulbs on the factory fog lamp harness. This is not gospel only what I have read.
  13. Always a treat to see nice craftsmanship. Did you do the tooling?
  14. Tried it out this weekend and it works great. Thanks again. Phil.
  15. I read this thread http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/index.php?showtopic=647 and I'm thinking this answers my question.
  16. Welcome Texel. I bought my Journey this past Wednesday and I am enjoying it a lot. I had a 2006 Ram Quad Cab 4x4 so this is quite a change for me.
  17. I have what may be a silly question. If I am in D(drive) and traveling down the road, can I move the shifter into the AutoStick mode to utilize the +/- features for engine braking or can this mode only be activated when I first start the vehicle. Thanks. Phil.
  18. Hi gang, there is ESP Off switch on my dashboard. When you push it an amber lamp lights on the instrument display. Am I correct in assuming that the vehicle is always using ESP until I push this switch? On the DVD it says: If this indicator light flashes during acceleration, ease up on the accelerator and apply as little throttle as possible. Adapt your speed and driving to the prevailing road conditions. To improve the vehicles traction when starting off in deep snow, sand or gravel it may be desirable to switch the ESP system off. I guess what gets me confused is the statement that it might be desirable to turn this ESP off to get better traction? Phil.
  19. Did you ever find if the harness is the same and if there is a socket for a 3757 amber bulb?
  20. No worries. Thanks for the reply. Amber or not I finalized a deal this past Saturday and should pick up my new 2010 Journey today or tomorrow. Looking forward to the new ride.
