I put key fob and keys in the ruler pocket of my jeans. The fob has now been cleaned 2x in the washer with Arm and Hammer detergent and Downey softener. Still works fine! I need to stop doing this!
Wow dhh3! Things go well for you. Both of mine are cracked and exposed. My daughter threw one of the two FOB's on the macadum this weekend and it busted into gazillion pieces. I have one left!

    Tito Mon,
Sorry to hear you're having troubles with the key fob.
The switch itself may be problematic and/or worn out.
At this stage, I would recommend having your dealer look at both the key fob and your vehicle to verify what the issue may be.

Had The Same Thing Happen MULTIPLE occasions. The first occurrence being when we drive to Florida for a week stay at the beach. Just spent all day and come back later afternoon to pack up the dj and start the car. Insert the FOB and Dash lights came on but no crank. My wife was more shocked than me. I was calm. A COUPLE TURNS OF THE KEY And hitting the brake to move the shifter thru neutral and back to park solved it. Later learned the key fobs have the transponder chip in it that carries the skim code to bypass immobilizer. The fobs we got with the dj were used and abused. So I think WIN
Module in the DJ acts up occasionaly.
The key fobs should still turn over the vehicle even if the little coin battery is low or taken out.

The key fob remote could be worn out. The fobs can attract moisture if there's any cracks in the rubber push buttons or plastic casing has been broken exposing the inside. The electronic circuit board inside can get oxidized and prevent the small metal buttons from making contact when you press any function (panic, unlick, lock, start) on the remote.

How long were you gone? The electronics do not tolerate low voltage, so your main battery might be low enough not to power certain things.

Hi just back to airport to collect my car, it will not start, it's asif the battery inside the fob as gone as it won't open / lock either, it's like the immobiliser is "stuck on" the key will not interact with the car.... But the horn sounds, alarm goes off etc ! Definitely power at the vehicle side but immobiliser will not let the vehicle switch on, will this really be down to the key fob battery dying ??? My vehicle is uk model, 2.0 diesel auto, 2009/59 plate , please help I'm stranded with 4 children thank you in advance

weasey31 reacted to Teamsmc in 2009 Journey FOBIK Recall Status Anyone?!!?
I received an "important safety recall" letter from Chrysler last June about a defective key/FOBIK for my 2009 Dodge Journey. It said the FOBIK could switch to the "accessory" position by itself and shut the engine off while driving! Yikes. But I've called and called the number and the replacement part is still not in! I can't believe such a critical recall is taking so long. Anyone else going through this? Anyone have the latest status?

Try one and see. See if your tire dealer will let you mount one. Do it in the front. The front strut spring mounts is where you will find the interference. No problem in the back. My 255/50R19s are the size that Dodge mounted on the Red Show DJ when the Crossroad edition was being introduced. I think that Dodge would have mounted the largest tire possible for the "right" look, even though they eventually did not sell the Crossroad this way.

Can you send me pics of your tires on the crossroad wheels?
I'm in the process of upgrade my 2009 DJ tires 225 stock 19" rims. Been looking at 255 or even 265 but the front spring worries me.

    Justin,
Have you had success with your final selection of tire size?
I want to maximize the tire width on my 2009 19" rims. Wanting to put on 265 but the front upper spring is close with the stock 225's.
