2012 Dodge Journey Electrical issues

Host of electrical problems:

- Radio would come on full blast when car started.

- solution: New radio under warrantee.

- Electrical controls on steering column failure - No highbeams, no signal lights, no windshield wipers.

- Solution - none yet. Problem resolved itself, but will it occur again?

(has happened only once (so far). Was returning home at night, distance of 150kms on mainly country

roads. Used 4 ways to turn at intersections. Luckely no rain that night. Warranty has expired so am

reluctant to take it to shop.

- Rear door latch- Passenger side. 2 occurences. Latch would not engage when door closed. Door would

just bounce back open. Electrical, not mechanical - latch mechanism free and open.

- Solution - none yet (as above, warranty expired). Problem solved (temporarily?) by repeatedly turning

on and off ignition, activating other electrical controls. Don't know which corrected the problem, just

thankful door finally latched

Chris Chis,

Welcome to the forum!

Sorry to learn of all the issues you're having.

I realize your vehicle is out of warranty however there are still so many benefits in bringing your vehicle to a Dodge dealer.

The Service Dept. is best equipped to handle these issues as they have access to all the needed resources at the technical level.

The dealer's ability to identify the issues quickly will be far more cost effective for you.
