Since we have the car, we have problem with the shifting when the weather is cold (-6°C and below). Exactly, the problem is that the car "kicks" (as if we we're pounding the brakes) when it shifts from the 1st to the 2nd gear. The car's been in and out of the dealer's mecanic service and they just completely change the transmission. The problem is that it still does it. After driving for a few miles, the problem disappears. Any idea what I should look for, cause the guys at the dealer doesn't seem to know what to do. Thank for your help and sorry for my bad english. We had a really cold day the other morning, showed -25 outside then the next morning -22, first time I didnt' wait long enough, had almost the same problem as you, the 2nd day, I used the remote stater and let it warm up 5-10mins or so, when I drove away, no problems at all. oracle Posted March 22, 2012 Report Share Posted March 22, 2012 That sound like a torque converter kick.. Cold transmissions shift harder but never "kicks". Besides if the part is under Warranty the dealership will gladly replace that cause they get the job ($$$) and Dodge pays for the repair...
