I have a 2009 SXT AWD Journey. We bought it in Aug 08. Since late 09, we have had 4 radios swapped in the vehicle. The radio is the single disc, hdd, touch screen, no navigation model with the Rear Entertainment System for the over head screen.. It seems to keep resetting itself. We loose all of our presets, the DVD restarts from the loading point instead of where it was when you turned the key off, and we lose everything on the HDD. We brought it to the dealer and all they do is replace it because they can not find the problem. It even reset when we went out to the car to show the Service Manager the problem. They keep our car for a day or two, replace the unit with a Chrysler refurb unit and send us on our way. We have had several with other people's presets and stuff on the hdd. One time, we could not get the DVD out of the unit. I have searched on this matter and have not found an answer. All they tell us is that they just have to keep replacing it until it is fixed. How is that a repair? Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like you have a REN model mygig radio, confirm this by checking three letter code on bottom right of unit. Also sounds like you have one of the many mygig units that has HDD issues. This can be fixed by you, with some simple computer skills. Visit this site, they have firmware updates especially for HDD issues. MOFV will give you all you need to know about updating your unit and also has a forum where you'll find folks that know a great deal about these units. I hope this helps.
