Removing and Replacing side mirrors

Recommended Posts

Pardon me if this has been covered before. The paint on my side mirrors is terrible. Peeling and chipping. (I do have 108K miles on my 2009 Journey).

I want to finally get it repainted, but 75% of the work is the labor in removing and replacing the side mirrors. Can anyone outline the steps in how to remove and replace the mirrors in the Journey SXT?

Looks like you need to remove the bezel around the door frame completely. Could not see if you first need to remove the door panel as well. Did you consider to paint the mirrors with plasti dip?, black on red is not bad.

I would also ask your dealer on how this could have happened, I only see paint chipping of on old cars and on cars with bad primer / adhesive to the plastic. Try to get it replaced under warranty.
