Anyone cross-shopping a couch before a Journey purchase?

Recommended Posts

I'm 25 and in Orlando, and I've been looking at used Journeys for a few weeks, mainly 2016–2019 models with the third row since I'm hauling family fairly often. Here's my odd situation: I'm also replacing the living room couch this spring, and both purchases are eating the same chunk of savings. When I look at sofa specs online — dimensions, cushion construction, how well the fabric holds up — I keep wondering whether I'm overthinking the Journey the same way. Should the third row get the same scrutiny as frame construction, or is that a false comparison? My worry is buying a Journey that fits my budget now and then finding the seats aren't comfortable on longer drives. Do you all prioritize seat comfort and cargo flexibility when choosing a trim, or is it more about service records? Would like to hear how others weighed this before buying.

Having BOTH the 2 and 3 row models.....

Front and middle seats are comfortable in both, the third row is more for younger (teenager) folks.

I've ridden in the third row alone with carseat for a 4 yr. old in the pass. middle and 3 other adults in the other seating spots, and all were comfortable. For rides of up to 2 hrs for me in the third row is OK. I'm 67 with back problems and only felt getting in and out a bit bothersome.

Cargo capabilities are the SAME in either configuration when third row is folded down, not much space left in back with third row up for seating.

Our need for the third row is NOT constantly needed, but is nice when going out with our daughter, son in law and granddaughter. it sure beats squeezing into any comparable small SUV two row even for short drives....from experience!
