Backing the piston off on the rear caliper

Recommended Posts

Is there some kind of special procedure to back or the rear caliper pistons due to the way the parking brake is? Not up on these Doge cars but shouldn't I be able to just use a large C-clamp to back the piston off so that I can install new pads? Maybe they are frozen? The piston looks like it is aluminum and not phenolic like the front pistons.

This could be part of the reason behind replacing the front rotors and pads.
