BUGS Posted June 26, 2010 Report Share Posted June 26, 2010 If the hood releases from the post in the front it is usually one of two things. 1. Post is not collecting the hood latch and locking, or 2. The frame (radiator mount) around the hood catch is cracked and mobile when the vehicle is moving. Get both checked. I hit the hood release with my foot while releasing the parking brake...I will soon remove the hood release handle and install one from another make or model in a better location..I have done it on another car I owned...Bad design for sure...
