  1. most likely the device your using isn't supported, the car would have to basically have the drivers for it just like your computer does what are you trying to pull music off?
  2. You should be able to, my SXT came with roof rails
  3. well if you have an automatic it is likely to be a foot pedal beacuse you don't have a clutch that needs to go there, it would be pretty akward to have gas, brake, clutch, and parking brake all on the floor. what I don't like about parking brakes is that the only pressure holding it engaged is the amount that you pushed it with, when you press the brake pedal with the car running it applys hundreds of pounds of pressure to the pads verses the lets say 50 lbs you can push on that pedal
  4. I think mine were 24 facing out and 8 around the outside, I know how the pattern is but the problem I had was the change in the brightness when I hit the brakes, if I didn't have a third brake light you wouldn't even know I hit the brakes
  5. how much of a difference in brightness is there when you having the parking lights on and hit the brakes? I had some LED retrofits off Ebay and from superberightleds.com and neither had a noticable difference when I hit the brakes at night so I went back to good old incandescant
  6. I would start pushing all the buttons and knob while someone is watching them and see that makes them light up
  7. usually the law is no more than 4 lamps that are pointing forward can be on at one time
  8. Theres pry a way to do it, you can do the same on a Bonneville by adding a jumper wire to the fog light relay but you might get some weird message on the dash
  9. could just be the combination of the ceramic material and the composistion of the rotor that react to make a little film, no permanent solution other then getting a different rotor and pad setup, you can buy the cans of stop squeak from a parts store but it just is a temporary fix
  10. best stuff hands down is Turtle Wax rim cleaner, has a little brush on the bottle I've used a bunch of brand name rim cleaners but the Turtle Wax stuff took off rust off the aluminum rims on my 2000 Bonneville
  11. In most states it is illegal to have more than 4 lamps on at one time on the front of your car (that are actually providing light, so parking lights don't count)
  12. You might be ok if the rotors are pretty good but you run the risk of grooving your new pads from the old rotors and shortening the life of the new pads
  13. Was that for all new pads and rotors, front and back? thats insane even for all four, too bad its under warrenty and I don't wanna mess with it
  14. Actually you don't need to change MAF numbers when you supercharge, as long as you keep the same throttle body this may be helpful if anyone ever decides to make a supercharger fit on a journey lol
  15. I don't think you can sue for a part wearing out before it does on most cars, only problems that have caused injury/death Take it to the dealer and and have it taken care of under the warrenty
  16. the ones on Ebay that say "if you can plug a light into a socket then you can do this" yah i got one for another car, its a resistor that gets put in the incoming air temp sensor, and basically makes the car think the air coming in is ~100F total bogus!

    HID

you can see better but it is much brighter in the eyes of the oncoming drivers due to the design of the reflectors
  18. Well putting higher wattage bulbs in won't help unless there is more power being supplied to it, I don't think there would be an issue with the lense, and putting higher wattage bulbs on the stock wiring could cause fuses to blow or wires to melt
  19. I would check the voltage at the headlight connector, I saw someone here had to add a capacitor to get a steady 12 volts instead of the 9 volts IIRC, a relay harness used for HID kits would fix the problem (they use the stock connector to energize a relay that pulls power straight from the battery or fuse box
  20. You don't mean the $10 ebay "Xenon HID" bulbs do you?
  21. in my experience with OEM wiring systems on cars if it was not installed from the factory then the wiring isn't there, there might be an inline connector for the control arm somewhere in the steering column but we can't be sure without a factory service manual
  22. $38.00 for that tiny cable? well I guess they got you if you really want it since you can't get it anywhere else easily, mine was sitting in the glovebox when I got it
  23. I would say anything made for cars is safe, I haven't cleaned the interior in the week and 1 day we had the Journey :D but my favorite is Black Magic Protectant, I have a Pontiac Bonneville with leather and it does a great job protecting and shining the leather and dash surfaces as well as any plastic parts you put it on
  24. I wish I could put 15% on the front to match the backs but in Ohio the darkest you can go is 50% on the front sides
  25. Posted May 28 2009, 08:12 PM Mid grade for me too. With today's electronics I really don't think using a lower octane fuel will permantley damage the motor. I am not a mechanic, but this is how I understand how it works. I think most if not all modern engines (especialy high performance) have a knock sensor installed. It will prevent premature detenation and pinging in the cylinder. Detonation is very bad. It causes more heat and could result in the rod punching a hole in your block. Otherwise known as a window in your block. Detonation is caused by improper fuel octane or poorly tuned engine (air fuel ratio). I am sure there are probably other things too. These appear to be the major causes. The knock sensor will pull timing or fuel or both from the motor to prevent premature detonation. Again this is my best understanding of this. Maybe someone with more knowledge on the matter can chime in and agree or correct me on the matter. Using a lower grade should not be a problem. But I would prefer to use the manufactures recomendation. It really is not that big of a difference on cost. I can't quite remember the fuel tank capacity. I think it is 21 gallons. Gas price difference is around .10 cents per gallon. Current gas prices for me are $2.39 for the cheap stuff and $2.49 for mid-grade. For 21 gallons of fuel to fill up is $50.19 and $52.19 respectfully. If you drive 10K miles @ 20 mpg consumption the cost difference is $50 dollars. Not worth the cost for me to use the cheap stuff. Thats correct in how the ECU will work with the car, the difference in 87 gas and 89 is that the 89 is HARDER to ignite so it is less likely to predetonate, I'm familiar with all the knock talk because I do tuning with supercharged cars How about a Journey with a supercharger
