  1. I called dealer again today and now deliver date is 28th But he faxed me the Vehicle Status report. Today it is in Cheyenne, Wy just a little over a 100 mile from Denver but the report says it will be loaded on the 22nd to a rail car to Rolla, CO then it says unloaded from rail car 23rd. Vehicle deliver date 7/28 I caint under stand why would it take 5 days after it gets to Colorado. I also dont understand why not just let me Drive to Cheyenne and pick it up myself. and I have never heard of Rolla colorado.
  2. I was told mine was to be shiped on July 4th (right) Today all dealer would confirm was he has a deliver date of July 23rd. so I have 16 days more to waite.
  3. Well I broke down and called dealer again toady he said car should be here on July 23rd. looks like it will take a total 12 weeks from order to delivery date. 05/02/2008-07/23/2008. Dealer said no we are looking at 8-10 weeks top. But I guess the dealers have a different math system.
  4. Called 1-800 number to see if we moved out of D1 status. Answer no still schedule to be shiped on 7/04/08. Get this the guy on the phone said the est date to ariv at dealer is first week in August. You got to be kidding I will go freaking nuts :slapfight: .
  5. New update I am now in D1 Status with a new ship date of July 4th.
  6. The one I saw was Red so there must be at least two. I keep saying as soon and if ours ever get here that is when we will start seeing them all the time then. I agree that you have to look twice to be sure because other cars a first glance makes you think you just seen a journey. Ten when you get a good look you see its not. But to be honest I will be upset if I see one on my block before I get mine. I am just like a teenager I want to be first.
  7. I have only seen one in Denver on the road.
  8. I order the rear DVD player and thought I read it would recive Sirius TV. But I saw this on another web page today For the moment, Journey buyers won't have access to the new SiriusTV system, which Chrysler is using as a come-on for its newly restyled minivans. But Chrysler confirms that the three-channel system will be added to the Journey later in the year. For anyone who has the rear DVD player can you tell me if you do or donot have the newSirius TV System.
  9. I wanted to give you all an update Dealer just called me back. Said Car is schedule to be built week of 23rd. With a ship date of 27th or 28th and said it take 10 days to two weeks to get to Denver. ( Mid July) He said that the third seat has been on back order for a month and the Entertainment group 2 When I asked him why if these items were out of stock when I placed my order why did they not tell us up front so we could of looked around more for a already built car. He said he did not know why he had to make 10 calls to get a built date either. He says that he is sorry and wants the car here as much as I do.
  10. I to have been in D Status since May 8th. What I find funny id I keep asking my dealer to check on why I am sitting in D status so long ( I told him about the third row seats) but he says he has not heard anything like that. I just got off the phone told him I am very worried and want to here back about this D status by Thursday. Side note today I also called the 1-800 number and my Vin is no longer showing up in system they said I need to get the Von# to be able to help me. I said it has worked every week since the 12th of May she said well I caint find anything in the system with that Vin Number are you sure it's correct. :slapfight:
  11. This part makes me think they do put them together based on model type (from TRW Automotive)) are sent in sequence, based on a broadcast build schedule, to the assembly plant and delivered to the line for installation. This minimizes inventory and makes it simpler to respond to changes in demand for specific types of vehicles. So I wonder if RT are done one week then SE then SXT Or would it be more likley to be RT/ AWD RT/ FWD SXT/AWD SXT/FWD SE This makes the most sense to me because of the framing. Also you would wonder about paint colors do the run them in batches. Or do you think its based more on the options. I feel from reading the boards the third row seats and child booster seats seem to take longer. They are also the ones that are harder for the dealers to find.
  12. 16 days to get to you seems so long, I always thought trains were fast but after your long waite 16 days will fly bye. It also looks like it took 19 days to build counting weekends. Rob how long did it take from D status to D1. Thanks Brenda
  13. I know I have not been waiting as long as most but dang I want to have that car. I have only seen 1 journey on the road since I order. And trust me I am always looking for them. I have noticed that the other dealers in my area are now getting more Journeys that are pretty well loaded. When we order ours most dealers in our area had 3 journeys with very little options. I am still going to call my dealer next week even though he said that he will check on my order daily and call me if there is any change.
  14. Well I called my dealer again today still on D status. his response to the third row seat is that his contack said he does not see any troubles with my order. He said its only been four weeks and I need to settle down and be more patient :slapfight: . I then called the 1-800 number and got no where just that it is in D status as of May 8th and it should be 6 weeks from that date but its not a postive. Then this lady started making me get on the defense because of her tone and the way she was talking to me. Can we say stuck-up Witch she was one of those person who said I never said that you are trying to say I said things I did not, She said that she could contack my dealer and let him know I was calling her because he is not helping me.
  15. Mine has been in D status for three weeks now. I called my sells person and explined that I was reading that the third row seats were on back order he said he had not heard that. But would look into it and get back to me on Friday. Well he never called me back so now I dont know whats up. I will be calling him on Thur and asking about another status.
  16. Can you share what type of hitch model you order and where did you put the wiring harness. Thankes
  17. Good catch Seth you must be right. I am sure together we will de code this.
  18. Rob I dont remember the web address I kept trying to find one for the Journey but nothing. I think the 7 number is the number of passangers. I found this web page but when I put in my Vin I get Mexico only Can other members give it a try and tell me what they get please. http://www.autocalculator.org/Free-VIN-Lookup.aspx Ps. I called my dealer car still in D status I said its been three weeks and I told him about this board he said he would look into making sure that nothing is holding it up and get back to me soon.
  19. I came across this and thought I would post. A: The VIN or Vehicle Identification Number is a 17 digit code used to identify a particular car from all others. The number is alphanumeric, meaning that it is made up of both letters and numbers. A typical Neon VIN looks like the following: 1P3ES22Y8WDxxxxxx (where xxxxxx is the last six digits) With this number, one can identify almost all the information about what year the car was made, which engine it should have, and other assorted information. Decoding can be accomplished by following this chart: First Digit (Country of origin): 1 (US, Belvidere) 3 (Mexico, Toluca) Second Digit (Make): D or B (Dodge) P (Plymouth) C (Chrysler, built for export) Third Digit (Vehicle type): 3 (Passenger Car) Fourth Digit (Passenger Safety): E (Active Restraints, dual front air-bags) Fifth Digit (Vehicle Line): S (Neon/Neon Sport sold in USA/Canada/Export) 6 (Neon/Neon Sport sold in Mexico) Sixth Digit (Series): 2 (Baseline '95-'97 and Highline '98-'99 US/Canada) 4 (Highline '95-'97 and Sport '98-'99 US/Canada) 6 (Sport '95-'97 US/Canada) M (Manual SE BUX cars) A (Automatic BUX cars) Seventh Digit (Body Style): 2 (Coupe) 7 (Sedan) Eighth Digit (Engine): C (2.0L SOHC) Y (2.0L DOHC) ? (1.8L SOHC) [yes, thatís really a question mark] Ninth Digit (Check Digit): The check digit is used to determine the authenticity of any given serial number. It is derived from a mathematical formula based on the first half of the serial number (all digits to the left of the check digit). If you are interested in how the check digit is determined, email me at <duke@neons.org>. I have the formula but it is too large and obscure to include in the FAQ at this time. Tenth Digit (Model Year): S (1995) T (1996) V (1997) W (1998) X (1999) Eleventh Digit (Assembly Plant): D (Belvidere, Illinois - US/Canada/Export) T (Toluca, Mexico - US/Canada/Mexico) Twelth-Seventeenth Digits (Build Sequence Number): Tells what number car it was that came off the assembly line that year. Using our original example VIN: 1P3ESS22Y8WDxxxxxx, we can determine that this was a 1998 Plymouth Neon Expresso coupe with a DOHC engine for sale in the United States and built at the Belvidere plant. The xxxxxx would have been what number the car was off the assembly line. [updated VIN information courtesy of Dan Stewart]
  20. Rob did you gry a different Vin from him. Or is it still the same
  21. Rob hang in there till Tuesday and call back the 800 number again. Here in the Us most who know anything are on a long hoilday. I think if look for the Plant manger name and number in Mexico he would know everything. I will try finding out that Information on Tuesday when My dealer is back. A long time ago I did this with a travel trailer I order the guy was veryhelful. In the mean time push your dealer to make waiting long worth you while.
  22. Rob I am sorry to here this news. I know how you feel mine hs only been since May 2nd and I going crazy. The funny thing was when I was trying to find my journey none around here in denver with any options I wanted. Yesterday I recived a call from one of the dealers I visted they just got in a fully loaded RT/AWD - the family vaule group. I have already placed my order and signed that if I cancel for anyreason I will give up my deposit. I tried using that as lerverage with new Dealer to see if they would pay or reduce another $500.00 no deal I also would loose my costco discount. So here I sit week two in D status.
