  1. A big Thank YOU to BIGTSR. I removed the negative connection at the jumper and the radio has come on every time since. So this is a very possible cure for many problems!! I recommend trying this for many of the problems reported on this forum.
  2. My 2011 Journey Mainstreet is a good-running, quiet, and very comfortable car. However, since I've owned it (Over 2 Years) I have had problems with the radio coming on full volume at times when I start it. when it does this all settings for the radio and heater return to factory settings...so it's a real pain. The clock doesn't keep time. I have to reset it at least once a week. And lately, the radio does NOT come on at all quite a few times. I turn the ignition on to accessories first, If the radio doesn't come on I turn it off and reboot the system. When it does come on I wait a few seconds so that it won't reboot again and start the engine. Annoying as can be!!! Took it to the dealer. He wants $105 to diagnose the computer and check for the latest updates. Microsoft doesn't even charge for their updates!!! Why should Dodge not support their products with software updates??? And they wonder why they're in trouble all the time!
  3. My 2011 Journey dings incessantly and displays a message that says, "The key has left the vehicle", when I get out and leave it running. I wonder why Chrysler engineers programmed this feature into my Journey. Really annoying and totally useless. When I get out of my car and leave it running I know the key leaves with me, Duh. It's very annoying if someone is sitting in the car, like when I dash into a store to pick something up during inclimate weather. What I would like it to do is prevent the vehicle from being driven without the key. My son and I tested this out.. I left the car running and left the vehicle. Then my son jumped in without a key and drove away. He drove around the block and it acted like there was no problem other than it dinged at him the whole way. Why not make this feature useful? Wake up Chrysler engineers? Maybe someone can give me a reason for this.
  4. I bought my 2011 Journey Mainstreet with 43,000 miles on it. Needless to say, it soon needed brakes. I purchased a set of pads and rotors from Callahan Brake through Amazon for $186.00. I had the wet rotor sound on these new pads right after I installed them. I contacted Callahan and they sent me a break-in procedure for the pads After performing the break-in they are working efficiently and quietly. Been about three months now and perfectly happy. The pads are ceramic and so they do need the break-in. This consisted of five hard brakings from 40 mph to 5 mph. And then 5 medium brakings from 40 to 5 mph. Then drive for at least ten minutes with little or no use to let them cool. The hardest part of all this is finding a road that you can do it on. This deposits some of the pad on the rotor and creates a good, smooth surface for breaking. It all worked great for me.
