  1. For those who have replaced the OE Kumho Solus tires, what did you choose? Are you happy with your selection? I don't care for the OE tires at all. I recently acquired my 2012 Journey SXT (17 inch wheels) when there was still snow falling. These tires are horrid in the snow and I feel like if we have a heavy rain while driving, they might be just as bad. I have a child who is younger than a year old, and I am concerned about the stability of the vehicle during rain or snow.

I too agree with some other folks in that the compound the OE tires are made of might be completely different than that of a retail tire from Kumho. This Journey has only 25,000 miles and based on the wear on the tires, I suspect them to be worn to the wear indicators at 30,000 miles (when they supposedly should be good for 60,000 miles). My dilemma right now is what tire to replace these with? I know that the OE tires are 'H' rated at 100H, however, I've been checking with various tire dealers/installers in my area. There seems to be some difference in opinion about what can be installed. Most tires in the P225/65-R17 size can come in either T or H ratings. Some places advise not to go with anything less than the H rated tires which are OE spec'd. Others say going to a T would be perfectly fine and that those might actually increase the fuel mileage slightly. I found some tires that are 100T or 102T and they are much more reasonable in price and have a tread pattern I like. Specifically I'm leaning towards Uniroyal Tiger Paw Touring tires, but they only come in 102T. I have a set of these on my other car, a Chrysler 200 with the 18 inch wheels, and they are a great tire in comparison to the junky Goodyear Eagle LS2's it had from the OE install. Just looking for people's thoughts on choosing a T over a H rated tire and what brand and model tires people are using, and how they like them. :)

Did u try souyh of border prices are big differance to get a better tire. at the most u would pay extra would be tax I've done it three time

  2. Just bought a new (Fathom Blue) 2014 Journey Limited (Limited package may be unique to Canada) so I thought I would join up here.

First impressions is that Dodge really took advantage of the onboard computer(s). Very elaborate keyless system as well as various other functions such as speech recognition, lighting, customizable settings, starting, instrumentation, etc.

No complaints so far but looking for some add-ons but will post elsewhere on that topic.

I have 2014 Limited only problem I have is brakes when wet they grab , very touchy . How about urs is same ??? other thwn that great been to Florida and back drives like charm

  3. yrs ago i bought a product that covered just your lights it was cut to exact size and shape and it was opital grade plastic and it was guaranted not to turn yellow. it worked great and also it protected the light against stones. remember the plastic lens use to fogg up and or turn hazy, any way I tried to find it for my journey but guess they quit making it . i remember it cost about$50. back then, i remember catching a big stone on the light and it made a big mark in the plastic but saved the lens from cracking. it was well worth the cost just for that reason alone.......................... P.S. the stuff i used was kind of thick it wasnt a thick plastic sheet.

I found some on ebay for my 2014 dodge journey head lights cut to fit in light tint or dark for $19.00 fit good

  4. Hi there I just bought a 2014 journey limited last month. I was looking into getting the black grille and headlights. I can't seem to find them anywhere. Anyone have any ideas??

    Thanks!

  5. got 2014 dodge journey ltd bought it in oct 2013 got 7700 klms on now ,drow to florida for winter months haven't had any problems as of yet now getting ready to drive back home at end of month . it's a 6 i feel i get fairly good mileage approx 500-600 klms per tank on highway, and a very comfortable to drive. that's my 2 cents for what it's worth. but the 2013 -2014's have the bigger brakes on them which the earil one didn't and was costing a lot brake jobs .

  6. So has anyone replaced exchaust on there DJ as of yet .I have 2014 DJ LTD would love to replace the exchaust on it to get some sound out of it,but haven't looked at it as of yet . Doning the Florida thing for a few months but when I get back up I will have a look at it . Maybe remove centre suitcase and install a couple mufflers at back end ???? any ideas would be helpful .

  7. I'll probably do it this spring. I traded a Hemi Commander in on my DJ and I had put one (flasher) on it. Easy mod and fairly effective, too. It caused the CHML to blink 5 times upon initial brake application and then remain lit as long as pressure was applied to the brakes. If you let off the brakes, but, got right back on them (<5 seconds) they wouldn't blink; that keeps folks behind you from getting annoyed in stop and go traffic. The CHML is a good idea, the flasher module makes it that much better, IMHO.

So I installed third brake light flashing module S--T don't work asked seller said that it's because of wireing from the Fiat group . So they have to come up with a different module ,but that's on a 2014 DJ it may work on eariler DJ'S ???

  8. Have you inspected your brakes? May have a caliper sticking.

I only got 5000klms on it shouldn't have that problem but never know . It's suppose to have the bigger brakes right , maybe when I take it in for oil change before I leave to come back home get dealer to check ??? Don't know how dealers down here would treat u since ur from Canada ???. But I will check it out thanks for reply

  9. Hi just reading all the write ups on brakes I have 2014 DJ LIMITED I don't like the braking on it ,brakes grab a lot mostly when it's wet or if the car sits for awhile like a day or so. I complained to dealer in December just before I left for Florida he said it was my tires,u need snow tires. I said if I was staying around all winter I would buy snow tires and that I don't need them in Florida for 3 months . I'm still having same problem brakes grabbing and when you brake a little hard it sems to stop real fast and quick . I have been driving dodge since 1999 never had a brake problem on any one of the cars or trucks I owned from challengers to chargers etc . But I like the DJ aside from the braking ????

  10. SHOULD YOU CHECK OIL WITH OIL FILTER FULL OR WAIT FOR OIL TO RUN DOWN???

IF SO THAT WOULD SHOW A LITTLE OVER FULL ON OIL STICK???

HAD OIL CHANGE CHECKED OIL AFTER SHUTTING ENGINE OFF OIL DOWN WITH 6 LITERS IN????

I THINK YOU SHOULD HAVE FILTER FULL WHEN CHECKING OIL THEN ENGINE IS FULL ???

THAT WOULD BE ON 2014 SLT V6 ENGINE ???

THANKS FOR ANY REPLIES TO QUESTION.
