  1. Has nothing to do with properly maintaining it when it is a brand new car and has been returned to repair shop 7 times before the car has 1,000 miles on it..... But, we got rid of it and traded into another newer Journey only to have electrical charging problems in the new one. Now we are Journey free and liking it.....
  2. We are into our 2nd camp season now with our Journey SXT and our Flagstaff popup camper. I know when we load it up its sitting over 2400 pounds and it seems to be doing fine with 2 adults, 2 kids, and 2 Labs in the car.... I do have the tranny cooler in my 2009 Journey (no tow package) and after I added tow bar and brake control it seems to be fine. I can average about 16.5 MPG in the Branson Missouri hills for a full tank of gas so that is a huge plus over using my truck.
  3. I have a 2010 Journey SXT V6 FWD model with the oil cooler in it. I am installing a hidden hitch kit tomorrow and an electronic brake conroller. Good to hear how yours performs, I hope mine pulls my 1600lbs Flagstaff pop-up fine. I have after market brake pads and disks as well so it will help in the break wear too.......
  4. OK so I installed a hidden hitch kit and trailer brake lights to my FWD 2010 Journey just now.... I have a electronic brake controller box I will get installed this week. Do I really need the Tow Prep Package if I am just pulling a 2,000 lbs (loaded) pop-up? I already installed after market brake pads and disks to get ride of the stock junk.
  5. Has anyone done the wiring for the trailer? I got my hitch kit (Drawtite), brake control box, and plug connector set tonight. Do I have to run all new wires for plug and Electronic brake control unit or is there wires already ran on the Journeys that didnt come with a hitch?

  7. I got 20,500 miles on my 2010 and the front are worn pretty good and the rotors are thin. I will not make the mistake of going OEM parts but, I have found these - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=390230993086&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT MIght have to give them a try, I don't think they could be anything worse then the OEM parts.
  8. Anyone ever try these??????????? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=390230993086&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT I think I am gonna give them a try.
  9. Just took my 2010 Journey in for the brakes squeeling and they said my front pads are worn pretty good and I aint got much life in the front rotors as well. 20,500 miles, guess the OE parts suck....... The Dodge dealership wanted $371 to fix it with OE parts, I wont make that mistake. Gonna start looking for aftermarket parts this week.
  10. Well it has been awhile since I was on here and ALOT has happened........ The 09 silver Journey of my wife's was still not fixed...still leaking water thru the moonroof and more days in shop added up to "Down Time". So, after being fed up and frustrated, we got traded out of it and got another Journey SXT….this time without a Sunroof. The local dealer went all the way to Vegas and got us one at an Auction with less miles and gave us a free roof rack with it. We have had it for about a month now and are happy with it. I did get a call from Chrysler Customer service about 2 weeks ago. Seems they monitor these type of forums and seen my frustrated posts. Kelly from customer service wanted to express their concern and asked if the trade in went well. They also offered to send us one month car payment for the trouble of us being without our brand new car for over a month and 2 years of oil changes. I got the check yesterday......... THANKS Kelly and Chrysler !!!
  11. That is fine and dandy but, you still got a car with a "Leaky Roof"............ That isnt acceptable to me, I paid over 20 grand for a new car, it better be "right". We are still in our loaner Journey right now and the dealership is bringing 2 more Journeys in from outta state for us to look at and do a equal trade... Both of these Journeys have less than 5,ooo miles and our Leaky Jounrey now has 9,000 miles so that is a "plus" I guess. Whole thing is frustrating though and the wife is TICKED.....
  12. Lemon Law in Kansas is 10 times for repairing the same fault but, I have over 45 days that it has been in the shop for a Vehicle that was bought with 8 miles on it and is only 8 months old....... Luckily I am U.S Army (21 years in) and the Dealership is right off base; they know they would get BLASTED if they didn't work with me. So far, we have a rental and they have located 3 Journeys without moon-roofs for us to look at next week. We will get bought out of ours and get put into one of these at a lower price than what we owe on ours......
  13. OK 7 repairs and over 42 days in the shop and still the roof leaks. We are requesting the Journey to be bought back this week. They gave us a loaner Journey and said they would buy us out of it and get us another vehicle so we will see. My wife still likes the Journey just no moon roof this time.
  14. Our Journey was taken to the dealership this morning for the 3rd time for the leaky roof........... They claimed they fixed it twice before only for it to storm and find out the seats are still wet and see drips coming from the roof heating/ cooling vents. My wife is absolutely ticked off; wishing she had never got'n it.... It has been 9 months and this Journey has been in the shop for over 30 days for problems.
  15. Our Journey went to the dealer today for the 3rd time cause of the water leaking............. Been in the shiop over 30 days combined sso far and they have yetto fix it properly.
  16. Did you have the dealer install them? That is cool.....what did it soct you?
  17. oh yea...that is cool, was thinking about the air filters the other day. I got one in my Dodge truck, need to get one for the Journey.
  18. Took ours in for the first oil change and we had two TSBs done to it....one for the exhaust bracket and the other for the power steering pump. They had ot order parts and we brought the Joureny back a week later.....I was told they put in a new power steering pump to fix the left turn noise. Whatever they did. it works cause the noise is gone from both items.
  19. Took mine to the dealer and they mentioned a bulletin on a muffler bracket....guess they installed another bolt or something. Dont know exaclty what they did but I dont get the rattle on cold starts any more.
  20. Looking at the draw tight...can get one for $112.00 and was told they fit without any mods to the bumper. Just wonder how low it will sit. Anyone install one themselves?
  21. Anymore people mount thier hitch themselves???? I am looking at buying a hitch right now, I was told by the dealership it would run me $800 and that the big cost was labor cause they had to cut the bumper up. I have found kits on the net for under $200 that states no bumper cutting is needed all I need to do is drop the mufflers outta the way to fit the bracket up there. http://www.suspensionconnection.com/cgi-bi...rney-hitch.html I too am not worried about towing, I just wanna use my hitch mounted bike rack and storage rack when needed. If anyone has pics of thier hitch mod, post em up.......
  22. Has anyone done this install themselves? I see the hitch receiver kits for $150 but was told you need to cut the bumper up and that is why the dealship qted me $700 to install it. Just wondering if it is that east to do.
