    Most miles?

52 thousand miles. Plenty of front disc brake trouble with warped rotors. I also have the Lifter noise when its cold but still ok. I think I have a to replace the neutral safety switch now. Tires went to 45K over all so far I would rate this vehicle fair to good. Best ad on part so far was a $2 dollar blind spot mirror I got at a truck stop! Vehicle is fairly comfortable on long road trips. Still don't have much confidence in the transmission because it acts unusual under hard acceleration .Such as passing another vehicle. I would recommend having it checked by a good transmission mechanic every year. Theres better SUV's but there more money.
  2. I had the Dodge dealer replace the key fob. They covered it under warranty Which was nice! but that didn't fix the problem. Another garage just replaced the starter but that wasn't it either. I'm thinking its the Neutral Safety Switch because yesterday it did start in neutral.
  3. Yea I have 52K on a 09 Dodge Journey and just had my 3rd set of pads and rotors installed . Not sure where the garage gets its parts . ( think its NAPA.) They where just done two weeks ago and there already warped. I don't ride the brakes and I don't hit them with cold water when I wash the vehicle. They also throw off plenty of black dust. Its really getting to me!
  4. I hear about so many brake rotor issues these days !!! Is it that the pads are so darn hard or is it that the brake rotors are not the quality of steel that they use to be? or both? I just had front brakes installed at a garage they said they where ceramic pads but a week latter I'm already getting grinding noises again and I'm sure these rotors will be warped and grooved up again in less then a month again. They tell me they just have to wear in! I also get plenty of black dust! Seems the only people that arent getting rotor warp are those driving the more expensive cars.I spoke with people who drive BMW's. Mercedes or Lexus vehicles and they don't even know what I'm talking about!! And it seems the garages can always get out of the service waranties due to the find print in the contract!
  5. Sometimes when I try and start my 09 Journey SXT it will just click at the strater. I turn the key and after the 3 or 4th turns it starts. Its just started this recently. I don't want to get stuck somewhere! And sometimes It runs for 2 -3 seconds and shuts off. The check engine light came on a few weeks ago but went off. Monday I will get it code scanned. Would it be the key fob? Or something in the switch? Any help or advice would be appreiciated . Thanks!

    Most miles?

40K Its a company lease vehicle and I work as a courrier. So far no major trouble. I like the vehicle. Style isnt' to bad though I prefer the Mazda CX's and the Nissan Murrano's style. My bigest fear is that they where going to put me in a a Nissan Cube! Now thats to me is styling gone very wrong.lol!
  7. Thanks for the replies.. Was told last year that OEM Kuhmo tires where all I could get which may have been the case when the Journey was first introduced but I guess theres other choices now. I know this vehicle has a good power train waranty but when I pass another vehilce it sometimes seems slow to repond and other times it gets up and goes. Really makes me wonder if its a computer glitch or if its slipping.hmmm? One time it wouldn't up shift I turned off the vehilce then restarted it. Then it was fine! And its been fine ever since. Strange!
  8. Just discovered this site. Very interesting posts! alot of people with similar problems and comments! I work as a courier so I'm in this vehicle all day! Its an 09 AWD Model I got last summer. So far I like the vehicle I drive through alot of the Adirondack Mountains it has done quite well so far. It had brakes at 32K. A power window problem and a AC control panel replaced under waranty. It has 40K on it and it will soon need tires. The Kuhmo 19" tires have done fairly well but I hope the next set have better traction. I hope I can get something with a more aggresive tread. The best thing you can buy for this vehicle is a 2$ blindspot mirror because there is alot of blocked views when changing lanes on the highway! Transmission acts unusall at times under hard acceleration. I would ask a technician about getting the fluid changed more often and if there is a synthetic you can use. for it. I hope the transmission holds up! Gas mileage is not even close to the EPA sticker on the window! I been getting about 19-21 on average. Over all my time with this vehicle has been good so far. I will report back when I have more time.
