  1. Yah, I've seen the part on ebay. I just mostly want to find the part number because I don't think the person at the dealership know's what he's talking about
  2. So long story short the touch screen component of my 2013 journey (8.4 nav, bt, xm) has cracked. The display is fine just touch does not work The question is can this be replaced with out replacing the entire unit (only the touch screen portion) if so, can dodge order only that or do I have to buy it 3rd party and exchanged.
  3. Not as of yet, big thing is it definitely did not do this
  4. So this is a little Odd (I'm waiting for my dealership to you know.. email me back.. such a concept) I get a weird noise from various axels on the journey that sound very similar to ABS kicking in during traction gains. However it seems to be a little more gear grinding in terms of sound than the ABS would. This was first noticed about a week ago when Winnipeg got its first major snow storm, I thought it could of just been tires peeling on pavement. I was able to rule it out when I was testing it on a road that was essentially a solid sheet of ice. Same thing, front wheels try to lock in AWD seems to kick in with a bit of a grind than off I go. The other night I was coming back from dropping a friend off and trying to climb a bridge at which point it did the same thing as I described in the previous sentence but than.. Service AWD Came on and I was down to Front wheel drive only (and may I add, this vehicle handles incredibly terrible in snow with FWD and the Solus tires.. moving on) after I got home I let it sit for a few hours and the Service AWD light went off. After some reading here I brought it to the dealership to get Oil/Filter and air filter changes and as a precaution tires rotated (I'm just shy of 15,000km and this was the first rotation.. All tires are 9/32). The gear slippage noise seems to continue, I haven't had the Service AWD light come back on granted I haven't hit any where yet to really safely test it. I do have the mild clunk (not so much when going from park to reverse or reverse to drive but say when in second and letting the foot off the gas and than re-applying lightly.. both make the noise) Curious if anyone has any idea's as to the potential issue (or non issue?) while I wait on the dealership
  5. So has anyone been able to find any addons for the 8.4N Garmin deck? The icon taunts me as I've yet to be able to find anything that can be installed for this
  6. Good luck, I've attempted to deal with Kumho so has my dealership and even the dealership had some colorful things to say about how incompetent their warranty people are
  7. For fuel economy although not insanely recommended unless you know your not going to need to over take someone on highway. At around 75-80 you can manually put it into 6th gear to improve economy on highway some what.
  8. Just a slight update, after I stopped spazzing over the check engine light I checked all the EVIC readings... I suspect it's the oil pressure sensor or something related to it as even when I'm in "Run" but not actually have the engine started my oil pressure is 668KPa. This figure does not change even if I drop it to 1st and bring it to 5K rpm, so pretty much nothing major since sensors fail all the time. When I say for the price also, I got this vehicle new (14KM, three of which were from my test drive) for 30,225 + warranty and all the standard taxes / financing fee's.. My package is - 8.4N + upgraded sound + uUconnect - R/T Trim - Sunroof - Towing Group
  9. When I still had my iPhone 5 sometimes it would not connect despite the pairing already being done. Usually restarting the phone would help/resolve the issue entirely. However, if you turn on your wifi hotspot while streaming audio.. Prepare for a world of annoying (buffering pretty much explodes)
  10. So I got my 2013 Journey R/T in Late Feb of this year (the 24th to be exact). Pro's are - Engine is adequate power for the size of the vehicle - Roomy enough for me, 3 friends and two 100LB dogs - Good noise dampening on highways (not amazing, but better than some) - Seat's offer good firm support for back, and the flexible storage built in helps - Solid feel to the car, I got rear ended and well.. My passenger side tail pipe got bent, and some scuffs on the bumper.. Kid's 2004 Ford focus was a write off - Enough 12V connectors to keep anyone happy, and a 120V AV connector (although would of been amazing if this was you know.. 3 Prong so I could charge my laptop while on extended trips) Cons Are: - 6 speed transmission still has the same issues as my 2011 Chrysler 200 did ( clunky shifts a time, especially in manual mode and near refusal to go down to 1st if your not at a dead stop) - Neither the Chrysler dealership or Chrysler corporate knew the policy/process on how to deal with defective tires as at 5000km in one of my tires got a sidewall bulge, and was confirmed by multiple tire retailer/repair shops (including my dealership) that it was indeed a defect and not road hazard damage.. Despite what Kumho thinks (seriously Dodge, do not use this crappy Korean tires again) - AWD really needs an option to manually engage/disable as at -10C there isn't always snow or ice on the ground. - While Fuel economy is decent, it does have some room to be desired. - uConnect / 8.4N console needs to support a wider variety of devices, and being with how long services like Siri etc have been out, should support this natively. (If my Lumia 900 could do voice to text via the deck there's zero reason Siri shouldn't be able to do so either.. And Yes I already know Siri is a different protocol than Windows phone with uses MAPS) - No electric recline on the driver seat, seriously.. This was a rather silly over sight, and honestly both front seats should be electronically adjustable since there's already wiring runs going to them anyway Over all, I'd say it's a good purchase for what you pay. The majority of issues I have (well the one of two so far) aren't Dodge's fault directly, although they should of had better foresight than using some no name Korean tire maker with terrible customer service while selling over priced tires. I'll possibly update this Tuesday once I find out what exactly caused the check engine light to activate and what keeps causing my remote start to randomly disable it self.

    Kumho Tires

I'm probably leaning more towards these tries (and the manufacturer) Being absolute garbage. At 5000KM into owning them, one of my tires developed a nice little bulge.. OK Tire, Canadian Tire, and My dealership all flat out say "defect".. Kumho? "Road hazard were sorry!" despite there being zero psychical damage to the tire (tread, or side walls). Granted it didn't help Chrysler didn't know how to even deal with the warranty process on these things! As soon as I get a chance, I'm dumping these pieces of garbage for something else
  12. It works, but Siri sure doesn't on the 8.4N in a 2013. Would be nice if Apple actually put the proper protocols on their phones so Voice to Text worked properly with out siri (My Windows phone works flawlessly for this in my 8.4N and in my previous 200's uConnect stack)
