  1. I'm pleased to report that my wife's new Samsung Galaxy Note 3 phone appears to have successfully connected with the Uconnect system in our 2013 Journey After almost one year of ownership, she will be able to take advantage of the bluetooth feature. As expected, my iPhone 5C also paired successfully.
  2. The few Samsung phones listed on the website run previous versions of Android, not the 4.3 that is current. We're going to get our phones regardless. I think Chrysler needs to raise the bar on Uconnect, rather than the rest of us having to lower our expectations.
  3. Here is a portion of the response I got from Chrysler support: We regret to inform you that your phone is not compatible to the uConnect/Bluetooth feature. The problem you describe regarding your vehicle's uConnect is a characteristic of the vehicle and there is nothing that can be done to ?fix? the condition. This is not a defect in materials, workmanship, manufacturing, or factory preparation and is, therefore, not covered under the new-vehicle limited warranty. We are constantly working with Cell Phone providers and manufacturers to further improve the features and compatibility between their phones and the uConnect System. Updates for the cellphone themselves sometimes addresses these issues, or Chrysler may from time to time issue firmware updates for your uConnect System. Sigh . . . the tail is wagging the dog. I guess I can try to find someone who has the same phone to see if it pairs up. What a hassle!
  4. Thank you for your prompt reply. I have not yet purchased the phone. I am merely trying to determine the level of compatibility - if any - with my current system.
  5. Hello. I have a 2013 Journey with the Uconnect 4.3 RSP (I have satellite radio) system in my car. So far, my wife and I have been unable to use the Bluetooth function with our current phones. However, we are planning to upgrade our phones this Christmas. I am planning to get an iphone 5C, which according to the skimpy phone listings on the uconnectphone website, should be fully compatible with my system. However, my wife wants a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 that operates on Android Jelly Bean 4.3 Our service provider is Verizon wireless. Has anyone been able to successfully pair either this Verizon phone or another Verizon phone operating on the same Jelly Bean 4.3 software with a 4.3 uconnect system? Thanks and have a Merry Christmas
  6. A few weeks ago I accidently drove off a curb while backing up and kind of "tweaked" the front bumper. The far right connector had separated and the bumper brackets were damaged, along with some other minor damage. I took it to my friend's repair shop for repair and when I picked it up it seemed to me that the gap between the front bumper and the lights was a little too wide. He tried adjusting the bumper, explaining to me that there were two bolts on each side of the bumper, and that the center of the bumper is connected to the grill. I have not been able to take the car to a dealer or another body shop for an opinion. but it seems to me that the bumper should be adjusted so that the gap is narrower. At the widest part at the far right I can stick in the tip of my index finger. Iooked at a few other Journeys; all have gaps at the same location, mine just seems a little more. In other words, the bumper appears to be saggging. Any thoughts, suggestions? Thanks

  8. Yesterday I installed a Curt 13335 tow hitch on my 2013 SXT. Other than removing and replacing the exhaust hangers, which even with the hanger removal tool was a pain, the install went smoothly. I will use the tow hitch primarily for my dual bike carrier and don't plan on towing anything. However, when I replaced the spare tire I noticed the rear end of the hitch opening ( which faces the front of the vehicle) interfered with the position of the spare tire. I had to jam the tire over the hitch and it is now sitting at about a 15 degree angle instead of flat under the vehicle. We took the bikes to the beach today with no problems, even with a short stretch on the freeway, but I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem with this hitch? I'm going to contact both Dodge and the manufacturer tomorrow.
  9. Last month my wife and I drove with my daughter, son-in-law and two grandkids to Sedona, Arizona for a week. I got the Mopar roof rack crossbars. An acquaintance loaned me a Thule Advernturer roof box. It looked like a casket on top of the car! It was so long I had to remove the rear antenna, and it was packed. No guessing the weight but I had nightmares of it flying off the roof of the car and causing a multicar collision on the highway. Fortunately we drove to Sedona and back - about 900 miles round trip - through the desert in triple digit heat with the air conditioning at high and the car packed to the gills with no mishaps. I am now looking for another roof box, as the one I borrowed was really it too long for the Journey, but if you attach your roof box securely and pack it with an even weight distribution you shouldn't have any problems. Have a great trip.
  10. I just finished installing the Curt Hitch 13335 which I understand is designed to fit my 2013 Dodge Journey SXT. Like everyone else, getting those darn exhaust hangers off was a pain, even with the exhaust hanger removal tool. The tow hitch, however, went on rather smoothly. HOWEVER, when I replaced the spare tire I noticed that the back of the hitch (center part which faces towards the front of the car) interfered with raising the spare tire into position. I had to jam the tire over the rear of the hitch and it is now sitting at an angle of about 15 degrees under the car. Like a previous poster, I got the hitch primarily for my dual bike carrier and we went bike riding at the beach today with no apparent noises or problems driving the car, even on the freeway. I'm going to call Dodge and the hitch manufacturer tomorrow to inquire about this, but I'm just curious if anyone else has had this problem with the Curt 13335 tow hitch on their Journey.
  11. Yes, my phone is the same. I am never prompted to enter a code at all during the process. I didn't have to enter a code at all for my Kia. If I go to the uconnectphone page they list only 7 compatible phones for my 2013 Journey SXT!!! Seems like a small number, given the number of Samsung models currently out there.
  12. Thanks for the suggestion. I tried different codes but no luck. I never get a prompt to enter the code on the phone.
  13. My wife and I recently got identical Samsung Intensity II phones. They connected fine with the bluetooth in my 2010 Kia Forte but somehow cannot connect to my 2013 Journey via Uconnect. I just get the "pairing failed" message. The latest compatibility chart I can find on this phone shows it works with a 2011 Journey but with older software and hardware versions on the phone. Not sure of the version of my radio, but the sticker says Uconnect 4.3S and I have the 4.3 touchscreen. Any advice, suggestions on how I may pair these phones and begin to use the bluetooth in my Journey (that don't involve either new phones or vehicles)? Thanks.
  14. Yeah, after I posted that I kind of regretted stating it that way, as some people may get a wrong impression of me or what I meant. What I meant was that my previous vehicles have been ones which were rated very high in terms of reliability and quality. However, one thing that impressed me about the 2013 Journey was an opinion I encountered in many reviews that - and this is in my words - if there were a prize for "most improved vehicle" the 2013 Journey should win. Time will tell but I look forward to a pleasant ownership experience.
  15. I just bought my first Chrysler product ever, a brand new 2013 journey SXT. Until now for the past 20 years I've driven either Mercedes or Toyota so for me (sorry people) it is a little step down and a risk but I wanted to give an American branded car a chance. My down payment was a trouble free 2002 Toyota Highlander with 110,000 miles which I bought new in November 2001. I hope I have a similar ownership experience with car so I can be posting a favorable rating after a few years of ownership. My wife will be the primary driver and she doesn't commute so I project that we will average between 5-6,000 miles a year.
