  1. I have been a member of the Caliber forumz and they are Pro active. The minute someone had an issue, or problem we knew about it. I was on the site everyday. I know we all are busy, but we need to help one another out. I am not yelling or complaining, just want to get to know my fellow Journey owners. I love to customize my rides (when money is there, lol), and when I can and do I will post with pics.

  2. Question about the sunroof deflector.

How does it secure and how much of it does it over pass the front leading edge of the sunroof opening ?

The side shot you posted doesn't really show it well.

I've seen some on other different cars and a lot of them cut down on the actual opening of the sunroof.

I hope you know what I mean and are asking for clarification on.

I does not hang over to much mayber 3-4 inches, mayber less. It help the wind from coming in all at once while driving. It is secured on with tape, like the window vents.

  3. My first fill up at about 500 miles only got me 13.8 mpg,but it will get better the more miles it gets. That is mixed driving,so.....

Update My last 2 fill ups got me 16 mpg and 15.8 mpg with mix driveing.

  4. Several years ago the car washes here in my town got new softer brushes.

Some time after that they got replaced by new brushless washes.

After some more years they were replaced by new high pressure brushless washes.

And now they have been replaced with high pressure washes - that move up and down - WITH brushes - but the brushes are made of foam, and triangular in shape and very thick, instead of those hard plastic bristles.

I guess that our climate and weather condition doesn't work well with brushless washes. The cars didn't get clean enough.

We have a lot of sanding and salting of the roads during wintertime. And it has a tendency to stick to the car quite hard.

    /Andreas

Well,I agree they do not clean as well as the brush washes, but free is free, lol. I will once in a while go to a brush wash and get it done. We get salt, grim etc. on the Ohio roads as well.

  5. I don't recommend using the automatic car washes. Too many times I've seen people with scratched up paint from the brushes. Also, be careful at those high school fund raiser car washes. The kids don't take their rings and watches off, the have a tendency to scratch paint.

I rarely use a brush car wash it is a brushless car wash I use the most. My father-in-law run a few of them so....lol

  6. Thanks. I thought this would be the case but I couldn't find any info in the manual about it.

I tried to unscrew it - but I wouldn't dare to put to much force on it.

Will try a little harder after work.

    /Andreas

I thought I read some where that it is a removeable one. You can download the whole manual on your pc so you do not need to run to the car everytime you need to look up some info.

  7. I just bought today a crome fuel door, a Dodge bug deflector for hood and front and rear splash/mud guards. Gonna go tommorow and see about getting front doors tinted and vent visors for all 4 doors and get the items stated installed. I would have dealer install, but it was to much money. I added the fuel deoor myself. The others need some drilling and I refer to a pro to do that work on my New auto, lol.

  8. Is it true that its because my car 's still a brand new car so it consumes lots of petrol....but after 6 months or 12,000kms (or after 1st service) it 'll go down or consume less petrol??

    Can anyone share the experience?

    Thanks guys!

I was in the dealer last week and asked about fuel usage and the tech stated it can take upwards of 12,000 miles to break in the 3.5L gas motor. The manual states that it will run good on a good gasoline at 87 octane, but 89 octane is recommended.

  9. Trouble is, I went to the dealer, and although they can "update" it, they have no idea if it has been updated, nor do they know anything else about it! Where can we ask questions like:

    1. Why don't the screens on my REU look like the ones in the magazines?

    2. I want to update the REU, not anyone else. How can I do that?

    3. Certainly there has to be someone out there that can give me instructios for an REU and an REU only, as it is a bit different.

and a quesiton for you experts out there

How do I set it up so I can watch DVD's and change stuff while the car is driving? Is LockPic the only way? I don't want to ruin anything.

    Tips?

    Thanks

The dealer can look at a screen on the system and tell what version is running. If they do not know how to do it, I suggest finding a different dealer. I had mine in the dealer today because of the IPhone issue not working with the UConnect system. There is a screen on the radio screen that tells you what version is downloaded already.

  10. Hi-

I have been visiting the forum for a couple of months now, it has helped to figures the options out greatly, but finally had something to reply to so I registered. We have an R/T AWD and so far are loving it.

We actually bought it used (chrysler owned) so maybe a lot of the bugs were already worked out because we have owned it since November and have had no problems thus far. The kids really enjoy the rear entertainment system, especially how we can all be listening to different songs from the hard drive. We finally have seen a couple of other ones around here (N.E. Ohio).

    Welcome fellow Journey-Man,lol.

  11. I just took my new Journey home last night it has about 75 miles on it. I have not conquered all the options as of yet, but I will have fun doing so over the next few days/weeks,lol. I am a former driver, but still part owner of a 2007 Caliber and I love that car, so I really love the Journey.
