  1. Man, what a cluster! I was going to ask my dealer to enable them on my next maintenance visit, but I don't think it's going to be worth the effort. I've heard that new firmware has been released for the radio and Uconnect system, but I'm thinking that it will be too much hassle getting that done too.
  2. The 8.4" screen on my 2012 R/T doesn't go blank when you shift out of park, it goes blank when the vehicle is in motion. When I am stopped at a stop light (or stop sign) but am still in drive, the video goes back on. It stays on after I start moving until about 2 mph, when it blanks out with the sentence "video not available when vehicle is in motion" or something along those lines. Related question: in the rear seat entertainment menu. there is a button on the top left for "disc 1" and a button on the top right for "disc 2." Am i right to assume that the "disc 2" button is for Journey's equipped with a rear seat DVD player (not just a rear seat screen)? As far as I can tell, i do not have an additional DVD player in the rear, just a screen and the HVAC controls (although on the back of the center console, I have A/V input jacks for a game system, etc.).
  3. Bump. Anybody know if the 2009 rear splash guards are compatible with the 2012 models? Mopar lists rear splash guards for the 2009 models but not the 2012.
  4. My 2012 R/T came with a front bracket exactly like the one pictured in the post above. I guess some models have it as original equipment, others do not. IMHO, it's worth $20.00 but probably not $60.00.
  5. I am looking to get splash guards for my 2012 R/T and the Mopar online store only has front splash guards listed for sale. Have the rear splash guards been discontinued?
  6. No, they are not removable and are probably not access panels. The part of the overhead console I am referring to is divided into three approx. 3" x 3" square sections. The sunroof control is in the middle square. The squares to the right and left of the middle square don't have anything in them, and are the "dummy squares" I was referring to. There just seems to be a lot of unused real estate in that overhead section.
  7. Let me clarify what AutoXclusive said: There is currently no version produced for the 2011+ models. We will offer this part when/if it's ever produced. All available 2011+ Journey items can be seen at www.vmaxx.de under the "FIAT FREEMONT 2012" Category. Any further questions feel free to ask. -- Best Regards, James Sherwood Automotive Inc Tel: 1-866-767-3686 Fax: 623-398-0740 So, I clicked the link they provided, looked up Fiat Freemont, and found the rear bumper protector listed there. With shipping and the Euro-to-dollar exchange rate, this could be a pretty big waste of money if it doesn't fit. So, I am in a bit of a quandary.
  8. Found a bumper protector for the 2012 Fiat Freemont. AutoXclusive told me the Fiat Freemont products will fit. http://www.vmaxx.de/en/index.php?fz=269&cat=2∏=689&pos_imgreihe=553&img=vm01800.jpg
  9. I don't remember what my window sticker said. I do seem to remember seeing Infinity mentioned somewhere on the website (perhaps on the "build your Journey" configurator). Truthfully, I have been underwhelmed with Harman International's automotive car offerings for the last few years (Infinity is one of Harman's brands).
  10. Dodge's website also says it is an Alpine system: http://www.dodge.com/en/2012/journey/technology/entertainment/index.html
  11. I just bought a 2012 R/T and noticed that in the overhead console on either side of the sunroof controls are two large dummy squares. Does anyone know what these are for (or were intended for on previous years)?
  12. My 2012 R/T has Alpine speakers, not Infinity. Fine with me, IMHO Alpine is a step up from Infinity.
  13. Rear bumper protector: http://www.autoxclusive.com/xclusiveshop/product_info.php?products_id=441
  14. Actually, I probably wil install mudflaps as well as the door door sills and rear bumper protector. Rear bumper protector is available from autoexclusive.com. I will check with them to see if they have updated the shape for compatibility with the 2011-12 rear bumper.
  15. I am a new St. Louis-area Journey owner too. Don't see too many Journeys around here, much less R/T's like mine.
  16. I meant, except for AWD. This is the US front wheel drive R/T.
  17. Just bought a new 2012 R/T, red, loaded with every package and option except for FWD and trailer hitch. Loving the car so far. Love the interior and it drives pretty well to boot! Thinking about getting the aftermarket rear bumper protector and door sills, but I think that'll be it as far as mods go. We'll see . . .
  18. Armour All should be OK to use, just don't get it on any clear plastic or displays, touchscreens, etc. as it will make them cloudy. As noted above, you shouldn't use it on the steering wheel as it will make it very slippery! Personally, I don't like to use Armour All because it makes everything ridiculously shiny--almost wet-looking. Some people might like that "better than new" look. I do not. YMMV.

    Dimmer Control

Yep, same here on my 2012 R/T. It is still listed in the manual, though. Drove me crazy that I was missing it and thought it might have been a production error. Searched the Mopar OEM parts catalog and the only dimmer switch listed is the one with the left dimmer control only. This seems to be a running change in 2012. Now that I know what the switch does, I won't miss it.
